Game receives no Traction, no Sales, Feedback Needed

Hey,

ive been sponsoring my zombie fps game for some small amounts (5-15k robux at a time, mainly on weekends) and ive done about 4 ads so far. each time i advertise i get sudden spikes of ccu, reaching above 60 or even 100, which quickly drops to a 10 ccu in an hour or so. such spikes appear rarely throughout the 24 hours. game doesnt get noticed by the algo whatsoever judging by the analytics…

people seem to enjoy the game and leave positive reviews, but i just cant see why they rarely come back. gamepasses/donations are left completely ignored, meaning i dont make a cent back from the amounts invested

overall ive added quite a lot of unlockable items that provide a purpose in the playthrough. the rounds have unique events that have a chance of happening, theres a decent variety of maps and zombies, etc. basically seems like enough to build a certain audience.

i need some Feedback as to why people dont seem to be interested. potential solutions and constructive criticism would be much appreciated!!

I found the game to feel a bit slow and boring at times. I noticed several zombies getting stuck in certain areas, which made me feel like the game wasn’t worth continuing. Additionally, the guns didn’t provide the satisfying feel other zombie games have.

when did the game feel boring? need some clarification on that cuz thats one of the main things i was concerned abt. also, did any aspects feel confusing? ill note the rest of the things. thanks!

All the time to be fair, didn’t feel worth playing as it felt way worse than other zombie games in Roblox.

Not really.

well, youre right here. it wasnt my goal to make a viral game that everyone would choose preferably. i just wanted it to stand out in creative aspects. the visuals are terrible, i know. i wanted to get a financial start, as ive got an investor thats able to promote my solo projects. do you think theres anything that still can be done about the situation? is it so bad that itd be better off cancelled?

Maybe try implementing trends if you want more players or funds but a lot of the game needs to be changed if you want your game to be chosen.

That depends on yourself, the game isn’t terrible its just mid and people expect a great experience.

i see. trends could potentially work, but im not really that type of a person if yk what i mean. the game wasnt really a passion project either. i was just told to make it n theyd invest into it. turns out investments werent enough unfortunately. ill definitely try tweaking some things around

I like the game, I think the player movement is too slow. Getting overwhelmed by zombies while trying to get some more ammo can be frustrating. Also having something for the players to do while waiting for the round to end. My son was playing with me while I was trying it out and he purchased the custom avatar.

So the intermission is quite long, I’d reduce it by about 10-15 seconds as waiting an entire minute was boring

Shooting the guns only doesnt feel good because of 2 things, when you shoot theres no camera shake at all so the actual gunshot doesnt feel ‘powerful’, just a very slight one will do
Also when you ADS the guns ironsight isnt even on the crosshair and often the gun has to dramatically reposition to the crosshair when you ADS which is definitely not a fun feeling

ya, the gun system can be improved a lot. i shouldve noted such small aspects, but i was too disinterested in how the project turns out in the end. one thing that really bothers me is the fact that almost nobodys staying. i understand that its really important to keep the gameplay satisfying, but the fact that people are losing interest this quickly is mind blowing. did the gameplay feel too repetitive? were the weapons too expensive? usually games like this retain a bigger audience, even if theyre not of the highest quality

Firstly, your game already has a nice structure. What personally bothers me is the delay on the ragdoll. This is because the ragdoll is done on the server-side. I’d recommend you do it on the client for absolutely no delay between the death of the zombie and its ragdoll: Detect the death on the client side, then clone the zombie, delete the original one. Finally, just make the local copy ragdoll and you shall have 0 delay and a smooth ragdoll too.
Next, the aim mechanic needs to be polished. I’m sure there’s people that would love to keep playing, but as the aiming feature has its flaws (barrel overlaps with the crosshair, taking away the vision), they are unable to snipe etc…

Keep it up! Every game started from 0 and has its ups and downs before finally reaching its very peak of popularity!

Wanted to add on to this, I think the aim mechanic can be improved.

I suppose you’re aiming for a phantom forces/CoD type gun mechanic?
Here are a few things I noticed about the fps mechanics:

  • Forced to stand still when shooting, because If I don’t, bullets won’t follow the crosshair.
  • ADS animation animation is buggy
  • delayed/unresponsive melee attack

I just wanted to say that keep going forward with this game, these type of games have an audience on Roblox. However, you just have to be lucky with the algorithm.
