Game "refusing" to gain players

Hey everyone… yes its me again making another post on my game if I haven’t already made enough. I have tried to get players to my game as many ways as I could ( tt, yt,dc… etc) however nothing is working AT ALL. What should I do… I have no clue at all and losing motivation to do anything with the game. And I think refusing really is the right word.3rd failure, probably my luck and lack of skill.Thanks.

Improve the game, take advice from other games like yours, add things and post updates frequently. Important thing, get a community for the game, that will generate hype and new players will come, make sure you have a group, and even dc server for the game.

After that, just wait! The game will eventually get players if it’s meant to be, don’t force it. Keep updating, to where it’s so good, people gasp that it’s not on the front page. Happy developing.

In my opinion, I prefer to put the names of my games with capital letters in the first letter, like this: “The Final Hours” and also, the market for games is kinda saturated rn which makes it difficult for your game to be in the Discover tab, I’d recommend you to advertise your game both in Roblox and outside of Roblox for example, on YouTube, you could make a channel in which you show DevLogs or on the other hand, you could make a channel in which you play the game. If you don’t want to have your own YouTube channel to showcase your game, you can get in contact with other YouTubers that play these kind of games and ask them if they want to play your game.

Your videos on youtube that are advertising the game aren’t great.

The problem with this one is that there is nothing exciting or scary going on for a while and at the end there is just some text that doesn’t even fit on the screen, also the video quality is very low. It would also be better to use your own voice since TTS is pretty lifeless and has no personality, but it’s understandable if you don’t want to do that.

Same problems here pretty much, although this video is a bit better. There isn’t anything exciting going on and you are just filling the screen with a lot of text which sometimes isn’t even centered, I’d also recommend putting your graphics as high as possible when recording gameplay for an advertisement. I think a scene where the stalker walks by you whilst you are hiding in a closet would be pretty interesting.

So i played the game and here are some tips i can give you that, i hope will help you. so first of you could definetly improve the frontpage of the game get some screenshots of the gameplay and put them in the thumbnails. about gameplay, the lobby doesnt really fit the actual game i actually thought im in a simulator game before i noticed the round teleporters LOL. a way to turn off the music or atleast tune it down would be nice it gets annoying after a while, the storage room is hard to navigate at first but i got used to it after a bit. also the game didnt feel very engaging, it just kind throw you into a cafe and immediately tells you to do things. maybe add some kind of an intro cutscene? that will help set the pacing of the game correctly.

Hey,

  1. The starting lobby has no correlation to the actual game when I first played. Why is there a bunch of very high poly cars next to very simple low poly walls and surroundings. It just looks very off, there needs to be consistency in the buildings. It just doesn’t make sense

  2. The actual game I like a lot however the problem is that there is not a huge reason for the player to keep playing. You need to give the player a reward or even something for every task they complete. It was hard for me to see the endgame of the tasks. Even something like a timer for the user to complete the task would do or something similar.

  3. The thumbnail tells the player nothing about the game, I couldn’t figure out if the game was a horror game, a mystery game, an adventure game. I got nothing. Furthermore the name tells me nothing either about the game. I’d recommend giving some description in the name and making a better thumbnail.

  4. The thumbnail is the first impression the player gets before they play the game and if it looks rushed or low quality they will instantly think that of the game.

I feel like this game has potential but first you need to look into these issues. There was some really high quality aspects of the game and really low quality aspects.

The game isnt… polished. It’s more of those “Horror Experience” games (doing chores then turn on light)

You created your game the 2nd day of the year and you are disappointed because nobody play to it? I wait like 5 months to get players on 1 game so :

Thanks for your feedback! I have made a new lobby and a cut scene as you mentioned and I am working on making the game feel more “engaging”.

new update to the game including multiple bug fixes, lobby improvements, new items and cutscene. Thanks everyone!

Something that can make the game more polished is to make it easier for the player to know where to go when the thing comes or improve some of the UI.

The idea is good, just needs to be fixed.


Also, maybe change the jumpscare when time runs out?

Added mute button for pc and mobile (“M”). Slowed “enemy” down, reduced work load on pc reducing loops, reduced how far the enemy can see the player.

fixed game breaking bugs and fixed broken camera system on death and fixed the broken raycast on the enemy.

Definitely better in my opinion, obviously you will improve as you make more videos, but this one is already more engaging, also I’d be cautious when calling out other games.
