About 5 days ago my game’s like ratio suddenly declined from 85% to 60% within an hour. Since then, we’ve been periodically suffering from dislike bots joining the game for a split second and leaving swiftly after to dislike the game. I’ve contacted support regarding the issue to no avail, as I received back a vague answer that they were “unable to provide updates or additional information”.
Interestingly enough we’re able to track when we’re being dislike botted through the client crash rate; see the sudden irregular peaks on exclusively computer.
The like ratio will eventually restore itself, but I’m hoping there are measurements we can take to prevent such bot attacks in the first place. Developers have very little way to combat it since we’re unable to prevent specific accounts from joining our game.
You could ask roblox to help you but as I can see from your post roblox wasn’t able to help you with this, which seems to be the biggest problem here. I personally would recommend using the Ban API to try a banwave against the bots and there Alt Accounts (if you are able to identify them). All I can recommend is actively monitor your game which is hard as you must react while the bots are ingame. (to actually see and identify the bots).
Roblox should make it so players (or bots) have to stay in-game for 5+ minutes in order to like or dislike. This would at least slow down the rude, selfish bot farmers who care about nothing but themselves.
Well, it isn’t a perfect solution and it will never be perfect as we devs don’t get the power/permission from roblox to clean the games as it would be needed. But it is a first step which can be taken against bots. I personally hope that we are getting a better way to deal with bots
