So I recently implemented the GameAnalytics SDK in my game to start setting up analytic events and I saw that the module automatically fires an event when a user joins/leaves the game, sending a table with a bunch of information about that client that you can later see on the Live feed panel, but the table includes the user ip.
I’ve been checking in depth the module but couldn’t find anything related to IPs, the module is probably getting the ip from an external service with HttpService. Since roblox is recognized as an official platform in GameAnalytics I suppose that they are allowed to get this type of information but how are they doing it and would it actually be avaible/allowed for a normal developer to do so?
Do these ips even have a dot each 2-4 numbers? If it doesn’t, then it’s probably just a public ip address, in other cases this does look scary if you see your IP in it.
Well, i think it’s a public ip address and not a private or personal one, some websites get your public ip address, these are common when you’re on like on a website where you could get some points for playing an application and reach level 10 in it, it requires your ip address to view if you had gotten level 10, but i guess you’d have to find some way to make that not public, i’m not good at these off-site kind of things.
Also does this ip even exist? If it’s a real one then i’m going to prison for 100 years.
910.420.69.0
(i made that up by using the meme 9 + 10, the 420 number for a magic sugar, the 69 for a music guy called 6xi9ne and the 0 for whatever)
