I think the title explains most of it. I want to take 3 points in 3D space, and turn them into the points of a newly generated triangle. I will be using an equilateral triangle meshpart.

Why not use two wedges?
@EgoMoose has a great article about creating 3D triangles, and explains the math fairly well.
