Generating Blocks

How would I Implement it so that when any player gets close to the layer a new layer is generated so that I don’t have to make every new layer and it can just go on and on.


I have been recommended chunks for performance boost on the client , but I am not sure about this one.
Only thing I could compare what I want to is infinite generation games, or some simulators where when you go down, more layers generate

I have an idea on how I can help- if you can share though. What type of game would this be used in? I just want a bit more of an understanding so I can get exactly what you are trying to achieve-
