Getting "Import Failed" while trying to upload custom character rig from Blender to Roblox using Import 3D Feature

Hey y’all

I’ve been trying to import a custom character rig to Roblox but i keep getting an “Import Failed” error accompanied by “Cylinder.001: Upload failed. status code: 400” and “Plane.002: Upload failed. status code: -1” (Those last two change in parts and numbers everytime i try, sometime even with new meshes like cube.003 etc.)

I tried resizing the mesh in Blender, checking my internet, restarting studio and changing export settings on Blender but nothing would work.

I exported the rig using FBX if that detail helps to solve this issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you all.

I’d also like to add that the model after a few attempts did manage to get imported. However, once i deleted it to change the pivot point and then re imported the SAME model, it started to give the same error again…

Make sure your mesh doesn’t have too many triangles, as this can cause errors with importing. I think the limit is somewhere around 10,000 tris.

that limit is for importing using meshpart. I’m importing using “Import 3D” with seperates every lil mesh piece that makes up the character, which are all under 20k triangles (the new traingle limit)

Hey y’all

I found a forum about the same probelm from a few years back and they solved it by using ethernet instead of wifi. I use ethernet and still got the problem but i still thought it had to do with the internet somehow… So i quit discord, google and spotify and tried to import and then it worked… Strange to be honest but oh well.
