GFX #3: The Anomaly

I think I will number all my GFX's like this now.

Anyways… here is my third GFX, I spent too much time trying to get it to glow and look more realistic. I don’t think I have those kind of blender skills yet…

The trippy effect is intentional.

I could’ve 100% made this better, and I am realizing how as I upload it. The layering could’ve been a lot better (the trippy effect) if I just spent more time adding more layers, that way it would add a more linear effect.

BOOM!

Fixed pretty much everything wrong with the first. Editing is a powerful tool…

That’s not that bad for your 3rd GFX! Here’s my feedback:

I’m not sure if that’s like a black hole or something, but the edited lighting in my opinion looks choppy and the motion blur or effect you added does not help with the lighting and it initially confused me. (I have tried that before, it doesn’t work out for me)
The effects and the dark sillouthete of the character against the black background almost makes it look invisible, so next time I’d suggest not to put the same color of the character as the background. I’d also suggest making the character not off to the side that much and instead more involved in the scene.

I think you may have wanted your lighted object to glow like this instead of just being a flat yellow:

If you’re interested in making it look like that, you need to go to the Render Properties tab on the right of your screen (the little TV icon) and make sure your render engine is Eevee, and then select the Ambient Occlusion and Bloom boxes. After that, click on the Bloom section and there will be different settings you can play around with and adjust how much light you want.

Of course it’s just your 3rd GFX, you still have so much to learn but I’m sure with where you’re already at, you’re going to do great! Keep it up!

So should I not use cycles for rendering? I’ve been told not to use Eevee to render my images.

Also thank you for the tips, I will use them for my next render.

I actually thought you used Eevee, but yes I’d suggest to use Cycles for more detail and higher quality rendering :happy2:

So I can switch to eevee, adjust the settings, and then switch back to cycles? If so I didn’t know I could do that

I believe it works for both Eevee and Cycles. I don’t think it works for Workbench.

Thanks for the help, this is going to be useful for future GFXs.

I don’t think so about the switching from Cycles to Eevee part, but what @SubtotalAnt8185 said, it works for both Eevee and Cycles, I just showed you Eevee since it was quicker lol.
