"Ghost" Members In Groups

Reproduction Steps

  1. Check the members of the Visitors role in the group OR go to this link
  2. Find the user “HBIURETGBEGF65T” with the user id of 2336056461
  3. Try to rank this user or check the groups on their profile

Expected Behavior
I expect that the user either is in the group, showing on the members list and have the group on their profile. If they are shown in the members list they should also be able to be ranked. If they were to leave, I would expect not only their profile to not display they are in the group anymore but also for the groups member list to not show them anymore.

Actual Behavior
The “ghost” member is shown as in the group, however they can not be ranked and- are not in the group according to their profile. This is a glitched state that should not be occurring and it should either be a clear they are in the group or they are not in the group. My system looks through the users in the “Visitor” role and screens them before letting them chat on the group wall. It has been screening them every interval since Jul 11, 2021 4:54:44 PM UTC with the following error from the ranking endpoint: “Error: The user is invalid or does not exist. Status Code: 400”

This has happened to me in one of my groups as well. It’s very odd to say the least, i’ll keep you updated if i find out how to solve it @popeeyy !

Happened on a old group… that I gave to my friend and I told him to gI’ve to me. He never did. Gonna get him back for it. Anyway I don’t know if it is still there.

It seems the user has now magically joined back into the group and was able to be ranked and the group now appears on their profile.

This happened to me aswell as @Venndredi!

Also reproduced on Chrome version 91.0.4472.164. Tried microsoft edge to no avail.
