Wouldn’t it be cool if you could gift ROBLOX hats to users? There probably will have to be some limitations, but it’d be nice for birthdays, holidays, and special occasions
support
The main limitation being people scamming others on alt account then gifting it to a series of 50 accounts until it gets to their main account.
Easy fix – limiteds can’t be donated
Why not just donate them ROBUX?
By gifting, do you mean purchasing an item and it goes straight into their inventory, or giving them one of the items you already own?
Personally, I would prefer being able to gift models.
Roblox wouldn’t allow people to gift robux, as it’d mean roblox dosn’t get there 30% tax
They can still do it with normal hats then |:
The majority of players use the favorites system to come back to experiences they like and to save items they will purchase for later. With that being said, the favorites system lacks features.
Users should be allowed to GIFT each other favorited items.
- Limited items CANNOT be gifted!
- UGC creators CANNOT gift items they created!
When you gift someone, it takes away the robux from your account and the item transfers over to the other player’s inventory! The player will receive a message saying: “_____ has gifted you _____!”.
If there is a concern with random people gifting others, then gifting items should only be allowed if the players are friends with each other.
I dont think this would be a good idea, mainly because of scamming.
not only scammers, there will be more people doing mistakes or money glitch.
anyway we can already do this, but it does not works like the way how in games trading.
They do and they already support it. It’s called gift cards. Send the code and you officially sent Robux to a friend.
This thread is 7 years old, what is this bump
Gifting should never be added
Its a pandora box of cross trading and scamming
Scamming is something that exists on almost every online platform with purchaseable items.
In fact, scamming happens on Roblox now (such as in specific experiences: Adopt Me, etc.) and (on the platform itself: Limited trading, etc.).
There is nothing that can be done to stop it, but there are ways to prevent it. Such as notices, reminders, and moderation action.
As long as the feature is fool-proof then that should not be an issue.
Some people earn robux through other ways, so it is more efficient to just use that robux to gift an item rather than buy a whole gift card with real money.
Even if gifting were only permitted from accounts with a secure multi-factor setup (to prevent phishing and the like), I’d quite like this as an option. I’d like to help my friends get what they want to customise their avatars without finding roundabout ways of giving them robux.
Edit: Actually, wouldn’t it be easier for moderation if we could gift items directly? Gifting robux is an extra step they’d have to follow for scam reports and such, which is extra work.
Now that gifting Robux to other users is now becoming an option available to us, adding an additional “Buy for a friend” or “Gift” button on Items’ Item Pages will be an amazing addition.
This won’t just be gifting items you already own, you will have to purchase it for them with Robux.
- limiteds cannot be gifted (UGC and Roblox made)
- items above 10k Robux cannot be gifted
- UGC creators cannot gift their own items
- Free items (of course) cannot be gifted
- In game only purchase items cannot be gifted.
This can also apply to game passes.
Many games have a gifting system for something like battle passes or 2X Luck game passes, and it would be nice to have an actual website feature for this. Gifting for Game Passes can be done through the Game Pass’ web page or setup in game by developers
- Game Passes above 5k Robux cannot be gifted
- DevProducts cannot be gifted
- Game developers may not gift Game Passes from their own games.
Gifting can be enabled or disabled by the creators of the item(s).
*Users attempting to send gift(s) will need secure multi-factor authentication (e.g. Authenticator App) *
This will help prevent scamming and theft of Robux.
Here is an example of what the “Gift” button would look like on the website:
“What if a user does not want to be gifted”
Simple, in settings have a disable gifting toggle.
As well as this, every gift must be accepted or declined by the user being gifted to. The payment only goes through for the gifted if the gift is accepted.
