Girl on sand, near sea

Hello!

Have I done anything wrong (via posting this, or it's in the wrong catargory?)

This is my first ever post, please tell me if I have done anything wrong if I have. <3

I’ll take any feedback on this. As it’s my first thing I made. Not saying it’s amazing, since I’m still learning!

Please do criticise this in any way you want!

(And thank-you for reading!)

I like it but the pose seems kinda dead and the sand is a bit too yellow imo. other than that its good! best of luck.

The colors are extremely saturated and just looks generally unconvincing, and unrendered. Your character is just standing there, and just looks uninspired and flat. Perhaps adding some detail may suffice.

No offence, but looks like a very, very quick job.

Great but the sand is too bright. Keep up the good work! :+1:

Good luck

Nope-. I used paint, from my laptop… GIMP was giving me trouble, and I don’t have the money to get photoshop… :sob:

Oh there are many ways to get photoshop for free

It’s a great start, but it can definitely be improved upon to make it look like a better beach.

  • The water looks nice, but there doesn’t seem to be any waves. With waves, it’d look like a beach.
  • The sand doesn’t look like sand, mostly because it’s too flat and plain, and doesn’t match the realistic water. Use terrain sand instead of parts, and maybe add some things in the sand, like sand castles and a shovel lying around. Maybe some rocks too.

Now I’d like to talk about the girl.

The girl is the main focus of the creation, right? She’s important, but she isn’t doing anything! Just having her stand there just isn’t right when she’s at a beach. She could be making a sand castle, or she can play in the water. Who knows? What she does is up to you, but make her do something, anything.

Looks good, however, the sand is a touch too bright, tone it down a bit, and the girl’s expression is very blank, and there’s no hand gestures, also, I feel like the eyepatch doesn’t match the actual scene, as it is dark, and the rest of the scene is light, good job for your first piece however. :+1:

Since you did this in Paint, its pretty cool! However, next time, you should build the actual scene in Studio and base your drawing off that. In studio, you can change colors if you need to and you can get everything correct.

I would add a pose to the girl, maybe a sitting pose? Also instead of using a skybox for the water, use terrrain editor. Other than that, good work! :+1:

Was this created inside Studio itself or edited with a software? This thread doesn’t have enough information on whats its suppose to be or what your trying to achieve. I’ll try learning software to get a overall good result designs aren’t usually created inside studio.

I’m assuming this is some sort of graphic design if so it doesn’t quite have that pop that make it look like one since there isn’t no information explaining what it is what do you need criticism or feedback on?

It looks more like this was done with a editing software since the background looks bland and no or lighting source is placed so it could make the colors pop. There’s no lighting and items in the background you could include different islands in the ocean or a boat sailing in the ocean something that’ll make it interesting. Keep practicing and put a little more effort into your build or design try making it the approaching your wanting.

you can use blender- (30 characters)

This is a great start but there are a few things I would like to address.

  • First of all the pose of the character is too bland. I would suggest spreading the legs out a little if you want it to be standing. I would also suggest you applying this natural stance throughout the whole character.
  • Secondly, I would suggest scaling the water a bit to the right since you can see the edge where the water ends.
  • Thirdly, I would also suggest you add some variation of the water where the water meets the shore. For example, you could make curves in the water’s edge to give more of a “Shore look”.
  • Finally, I would suggest adding procedural textures to the sand so it is not flat, but instead have “small hills” in it which you can control. I have linked a video explaining how to do this here.

Overall as I stated above this a great start and I believe you have a lot of potentials.
