GitHub links and Roblox moderation

INTRO

I’ve ported a XML parser in Lua to Roblox Lua, which is located here.

So in the scripts I added credits… to that link… :grimacing:

POTENTIAL ISSUE

I uploaded this module to Roblox, only to see that the link has been censored. (in the module description on the roblox website)

Is my account potentially about to be moderated? Roblox looks in your scripts, and considering their moderation, would they even care about context?

ENDING

Just need some advice, emailing Roblox Support would be too much of a hassle and they’d probably wouldnt even give me a specific response, thanks in advance.

As far as I know, Roblox is very picky about what links are allowed on the platform. I don’t think that there will be an issue if you have it as a comment in the script though. Kinda sucks for crediting, but it’s still something.

No, you’re not going to be banned for using links in your scripts which pertain to its functionality. And having text censored has no correlation to being moderated.

edit: oh it’s part of the comment of your script. Hmm, I still don’t think it’s an issue because when it comes to development, Roblox seems to allow a larger number of links than they do merely on the website (GitHub is used very often on the developer hub and dev forums, for example).

I also think it’s unlikely your script would even be flagged for moderation in the first place.

@NINJAMASTR999 Thank you for your response pertaining to comments, yes this is a comment in the script.

@roblox_user_54556995 That is a fair point, does make me feel reassured, and your latter point is true, I inferred that because roblox moderation is just horrid at this point.

Thank you both for the quick responses, I will be keeping the links in the script.

Your scripts aren’t checked if other users don’t see any inappropriate content.
