How about a simple sword fighting minigame? You can practice all the skills you learn to create it.

Hmm, If it’s going to be a small project why not try to make a game that has something to do with a mini game. I would just try to manipulate the mini game style and add some stuff to make it more enjoyable then your average mini game.
