Glowing Black Parts

I am currently trying to figure out how to achieve this effect:

For those that don't know why this is special, it's because black parts usually can't have a bloom effect like you see in the picture, they can not glow at all actually. The video is from the game rogue demon, and the lightning, which is supposed to be a black flash is an admin spec which i saw in a yt video. This is also where the screenshot is from.

Since he obviously used some workaround i tried to replicate this in studio but can't wrap my head around it after an hour of trial and error, so i decided to come here and ask if anyone had a clue on how it could possibly work.

i am gonna list some of the stuff i've tried so far:

  • Neon base parts with decals on every side
  • Neon base parts with textures on every side
  • Neon base parts with surfacegui and image on every side
  • Neon mesh parts with a solid black texture
  • Neon base Parts with special mesh and a solid black texture

I have a feeling it might have to do with viewports, as most of the complex things in studio do nowadays, but i am not very experienced in those yet, so i gotta look into that more.

Hope someone can help, cheers!

Try putting a Neon colored part into the Black neon part and set the colored parts size down with 0.001 so it doesnt clip into the black part…? maybe that’ll work?

It’s just a red neon part with a black highlight.

Like @bluebxrrybot said, it’s just a neon red part with a black Highlight over top of it. Here is a screenshot of me remaking it in Studio. On the right, you can see the properties I used for the highlight.

EDIT: Oops! I forgot the picture! lol
