Glowing skinned meshes

G’day,

Just wondering if you guys know any hacky ways to create emissive textures on skinned meshes!

Would love to know if there is any way to achieve something like this.

Anything helps

Cheers, Shark.

You could have separate mesh parts then export the model as an FBX to keep them as such, later in Roblox Studio you could import and apply the model textures on what is needed. as for the emission, the separate parts that are supposed to be glowing you could make them neon and if needed you could lower the intensity just make the transparency higher. That is one simple way I could think of doing it.

If the colors are right, you could achieve what this person was trying to avoid

Hello! I see you have mentioned my post in here.

It is true, a lot of light in one place can create this effect, but I don’t think putting high brightness on a lighting instance would really work well…

I can’t confirm that it will work, but maybe you could try importing a mesh with the Blender material feature? It has so many properties and you can create awesome lighting effects with Emission and stuff…

I dunno if Roblox supports procedural textures. You could make one but you would have to bake the texture into maps (color, normal, roughness, metalness) I don’t think there is one for glowing sadly. (unless there IS… If Im wrong please let me know I want to make stuff glow too!!!)

Yuh, I’m new to modelling and I do not know much about textures/materials… I don’t make complicated meshes like this, so I use Roblox’s brickcolor feature. Its enough for me
