Go ham! How can I improve this?

How can I make this better? Any and all suggestions are welcome!

FYI: This is the spawn/lobby area for a large underground research facility project that I’m working on.

It’s quite hard to tell you how to improve it if we don’t even know what it is supposed to be, but I’ll try.

  1. The spawn area (I assume it’s the spawn) feels empty. Maybe try to fill in the space a little more? 'Cause right now it seems kind of creepy with how empty it is (almost liminal).

  2. I think the tables in the last picture blend in too much.

The architecture looks good though (FYI I’m not an architect).

It’s supposed to be the spawn-area/lobby of an underground facility. I’ll edit my post to compensate. Thanks for your input and I’ll update you with an image as soon as I can!

Well in that case it looks good, here’s some more suggestions:
If A bunker-like facility:

  • Should probably have some offshoots though, for things like food stores sleeping quarters (mass and luxury), and Operations.
  • Maybe make the ceilings feel a little more “bomb-proof” and also so that it doesn’t look like the ceiling might crash down over time.

Here are some pictures I found from a quick search of “government fallout shelters”:

If for a company that works underground:

  • You could add an area for lockers, an off-branch where workers go to work, and a restroom.

For Both Options:

  • Around the walls you could add seating (in the spawn area).
  • Maybe add a way out? (of course, sealed so that the player can’t up and exit the facility)
  • Speakers around the ceiling so that HRs can shout out messages (not a game feature (well I mean you could if you wanted it to be)).
  • The cafeteria should probably be a lot larger. Based on how large your spawn area is, it looks like there would be a lot of people down there at a time.

Alright, those are my new suggestions. (Additions to and not replacements for the old suggestions)

It’s looking good so far. Only a few suggestions.

  • In the middle, you can see some dirty textures; but I don’t see any of them on the walls or ceiling. It makes it look a bit weird to have some dirtiness in some places but not in others.

  • I see that you tried to make the area labels look cool with the neon signs, but I feel like since those seem to be big and important areas that you could make the signs stand out and put a little more effort into them. One thing that you could do is make it look a little worn down. You could tilt on of the letters to make it look like it’s been there for a hot minute. Or you could even make it an image/decal and design a custom sign… or hire someone to do it for you. (The pic I attached is pretty over-exaggerated)

  • I also feel like the support beam things could use a little love too, if you know blender you could potentially extrude and size the bottom half a little more to make it look like it has more structural integrity. I attached a picture representing this.

That’s all I can really think of. But those are minor things. It looks really good so far and keep it going!

Respectfully,

I tried my best with corner wedges, it didn’t go so well lol.

Got some “volumetric” lighting (they’re just beams)

Changed color of tables to reduce blending

I’ve made some pretty significant changes and I want to see if you guys like it.

The second version looks more welcoming, while the second looks more industrial. They both look really good, it’ll just really depend on which suits your game best.
