Yesterday I made a post if its against the Roblox TOS if you sell titles/ranks in exchange for real life money instead of robux in your own game, all people who commented on the post said yes however I stumbled across this.

I also struggle to see how the linked website relates to selling titles/ranks.
If you’re relating to selling in general, then I believe there’s a significant difference between including a code with a real product, versus selling a digital good or service such as a rank/title.

So lets say I wanted to sell t shirts and in the package there is a code? This is allowed?
I’ll also add that many people use a “if you bought my Roblox toy and redeemed the code, you’ll have an in-game reward” technique already and no one’s been moderated to my knowledge.
Just an FYI: People who essentially become toys earn royalties off the amount of toys sold so they still earn money.

Yes, I don’t see why not. You are selling the t-shirt and you are giving away a code to redeem some sort of in-game item.
If the item gave great advantage over others, it might be questionable. If the item was purely cosmetic, I don’t think there would be any issue at all.

I agree with you however isn’t it breaking TOS as the client is giving US$ and roblox doesn’t take a cut/earnings from it?
If it was against ToS, Roblox would’ve already taken down Pet Sim 2…

Yes selling physical items is allowed. This would require a third party though so you won’t be able to directly sell it from ROBLOX, thus, not breaking any rules within ROBLOX where selling titles or anything virtual can get you into trouble.
EDIT: For real USD, ROBLOX does allow you to sell virtual items for robux.

You can sell merchandise like t-shirts.
You can also give away free codes for things in game, just like giving promo codes on Twitter.
Note the major differences between what you are describing here vs. the OP where you talked about directly selling ranks or titles for USD. Selling ranks specifically is not allowed. Selling stuff in your game for USD is not allowed. Giving a promo code along with a merch sale is allowed.

Gamepasses or dev products can not be bought with USD.

Alright, well said, this is defiantly something I am going to consider adding in the future. (merch/toys)
