It has come to my attention that the “Gold Clockwork Headphones” accessory has recently gone Limited, however it behaves as an UGC Limited (Or Limited Unique 2.0) instead of a traditional Limited item. I believe this must be a mistake on your part, because it was not announced anywhere at all that the item had a stock, or was going Limited (these are both LIMITED characteristics, not LIMITED UNIQUE 2.0).
There is no reason whatsoever for there to be a 50% cut on a Roblox made Limited item, considering there is no creator getting a 10% cut of the profits, on top of also being untradeable. I hope there is a way to revert this (what I hope is a) mistake.
As mentioned above, this item was not advertised as being a stocked Limited, theoretically making it a regular Limited.
I belive this was a mistake, but I would like some answers, if possible. Also, if it was on purpose, would it be possible that you could change your minds and convert it/keep that in mind for next limiteds? Thank you for your attention!
THANK YOU for pointing it out! I hope the staff sees this and decide to fix it, especially considering that part of an item’s potential got wasted for the fact that it isn’t tradeable.
Before trading was added, people would sell their limiteds for a very low price in order to transfer it between accounts, and many scams would happen. We don’t want this to happen again, so making it behave like a classic limited would be amazing.
Is it possible the Jade Catseye can be looked at as well? I don’t understand why it was made a UGC limited when the other items didn’t (and this wasn’t communicated when purchasing it either).
The holding period is soon to be lifted, it would be nice if this can be resolved before then. I can make a separate thread if necessary.
The Jade Catseye is a bundle and there have not been any limited unique items on the marketplace that exist as a bundle, likely as to why it exists as a limited 2.0 item. Roblox has not released any bundles with the tradability feature yet I don’t believe.
Thanks for making a thread about this, I was also very confused when I saw the accessory turned into a UGC Limited 2.0 and like many others assume it was just a mistake, since the other clockwork items have all been tradeable and are very popular for this property.
With the Jade Catseye bundle I think it was intentional, likely because there is no support for trading bundles.
Agreed, I still don’t understand why they scrapped the whole “Collectible” icon thing that was going to be used to differentiate resellable UGC Limiteds using the new Limited 2.0 system from actual tradable Roblox Limiteds.
This C icon that leaked a while ago is hideous and I’m glad they didn’t end up using that one specifically, but they surely can come up with a different icon for it rather than just using the LimitedU tag for UGC Limiteds.
On another point, I believe most gold clockwork owners including myself would have rather it have not gone limited to begin with, not sure why they couldn’t go the same route as red clockwork headphones and kept it offsale. It has 260k+ stock as well as it following the same scheme as ugc limiteds I believe it is pretty much worthless atp, but I digress.
It’s simple marketing, make the item tradable and this item will be racking in sales for Roblox forever. This benefits Roblox, Seller, and buyer greatly just by enabling the trading feature. Huge marketiing difference just by changing the boolean value of trading permissions to “YES”.
Is there a way to get Roblox to move up this concept, as it is critical for users to better understand the product and labels, and to help reduce confusion on the different Limited items. That would be nice if this can be upvoted or pushed up for review also. This matters throughout the entire platform for context on distinguishing Products. What if the LimitedU tag may be a bug all this time and nobody never knew for the entire 2 years of the Limited 2.0 release was possibly that new icon this entire time?
Update on the marketplace fee: We have made marketplace fee consistently on all Roblox Limited item 30% of sale amount.
We are also looking into the trading functionality and will come back with an update here.
Will players who sold it before this change get a refund to make up for the % lost? it’s pretty unfair for those who sold it beforehand to get a lower %
Just want to double check did you guys fix it for this too?
I contacted Roblox support about this multiple times throughout the past month and I have gotten some extremely frustrating pre-written responses that had no relevance to my question, and in the end they were unable to solve the issue. Seeing this post gives me a little bit of hope, and so I just really would like to make sure you guys remembered to fix the eye as well, as I bought 10 of these which cost me 150k Robux, and it becomes resellable for the first time in just a few days for all the original owners:
I also was disappointed that it wasn’t tradable as I bought 10 of them thinking I would be able to trade them just as we have been able to do with every other Roblox-created limited since July 11, 2012 when the trading system came out. I along with many of the buyers wouldn’t have bought any at all if we knew it wouldn’t be tradable. I understand that you have “Tradable: No” on the item page in small writing but from our perspective this is an item that was advertised and sold in The Haunt as a Limited U created by Roblox, and as I said earlier it has been known for over 12 years that all Roblox made limited items are tradable.
