Last night, Wittiest and I came up with a neat idea for a game. It’s called “Gold Rush”. It’s sort of like a tycoon based game… However we arn’t sure if that will be the case for long.
Main idea of the game-
In the center of the map, there is a stash of gold or items. Players must hoard those items for themselves by collecting as many at a time and bring them back to their base. However, the more items they carry back to their base at single time, their walk speed decreases since the gold is too heavy.
What gameplay will be like
The stash of items in the center of the map will frequently dispense items for players to collect, those items will vary in rariety and quantity. You would probably expect players to camp by that stash and collect the most rare items. However, the more items a player is carrying, the the slower they walk. This will hopefully eliminate campers since the only weapon type is swords.
You don’t want to spend too much time at the stash either, players can easily sneak into your base and take from your storage of items. Best way to defend your base is to collect as much gold as possible and build up your base.
Some thoughts that we have (Feedback needed)
We were thinking of doing a round based system. Whoever has the most gold or highest base wins that round and becomes the MVP causing them to gain experience and level up.

We have only started making the structure of the game and havn’t worked out the kinks yet. We want to make sure that everything is structurally sound as can be.
We would love to here your feedback on this idea that we are putting into action.

Colorless will still be developed, this is just a nice side project I am working on with a friend.
Technically, CrescentJade should be working on the game framework at the moment.

Still need to think on how the levels will be, and I am still waiting on a really nice build by KingKillerGuy. However, it’s been a month since.
I swear it’s better to limit development to two people rather than having a huge team.

Both really, However this Is Wittiest’s main project so I’m helping him with the scripting a little bit.
I’m more of the “Designer” of the game.
Interesting idea. My one thought is: “What happens when you have someone carrying a lot of gold and someone comes up to them with a sword?” Con the person carrying the gold also use a sword even while they are carrying the gold?
Yes, they will be able to defend themselves.
Since we are still figuring out the kinks of the game, we decided we may use guns or projectile weapons.
The map that we built is pretty large so we decided to take that into consideration.
Could you maybe add some sort of pipe that would extend towards the pile that would transport your gold home giving you a shorter distance to travel between loads? Also maybe you could add a bot that works to slowly bring gold home for you. Just some ideas.
The pipe scenario would be a bit difficult as it would be pretty confusing to Players.
We could have some special perks
(Quick deposit) - Can deposit all of your gold while you are collecting them.
(Immortal riches) - If you happen to die while collecting gold/items, it will deposit all of your held inventory into your storage.
If they so happen to die, and do not have the Immortal Riches perk activated, their held gold will be dropped on the ground as an interactable 3D object. (A part with a coin mesh most likely).
However, I do love the idea of having a bot assistant helping them bring gold back to their base.

We are currently making a clan system.
i like the pipe idea, think of it as a way for you to profit.
You can have a special VIP game-pass that allows them to walk to a pipe room close to the stash of booty, they can only deposit the booty into the pipe if they have the game-pass, once deposited it will then be at your base.

For some reason I couldn’t grasp the idea of having “Pipes”, but now I do.
There can be random pipes that sprout up from the map so players can quickly deposit their gold!
Anything new with this project?
