Now, I’m not quite a fan of jump scares in horror because I really don’t think they are scary. That being said, there are 2 instances where the player could die in this horror game I am making, and I feel like just having it cut to black when they die is a bit anticlimactic. How can I make a jumpscare that doesn’t seem stupid, or should I even make one at all? The deaths are in chase scenes, where the player most likely would know they are about to die, so it wouldn’t need to be like a surprise or anything. Any feedback is appreciated.
