So i am making a game heavilly inspired by No More Room In Hell, a hardcore zombie coop mod for half life 2. I am basically making a game similar to it but with different twists, but i also wanted to add a few stuff that i am not sure if they are allowed on roblox. Since both of these games, mine and NMRIH try to be realistic, they have children as infected which can be killed, and also some gore-y
The image you see is one of the zombie models i use from a site as placeholders, but i wanted to know if that type of gore is allowed on roblox. I am also planning on adding mechanics such as body damage, were people can shoot limbs off the infected. After that, we were also planning on add small chunks of flesh popping off when an infected dies.
If one of the few stuff i mentioned are not allowed on roblox, what could i use instead as an alternative?
i wasn’t planning on having it on xbox anyways, since people there cannot chat so the whole point of coop becomes useless there. If it’s only that then i do not mind
Looks great, although I agree with the gore, I’m not to sure if roblox will allow this and I mean yeah maybe make it less realistic and add more of a roblox feel, maybe then they will allow it.
I think you can have gore as long as you don’t take it to extreme measures. If the gore looks semi-cartoonish ant not realistic, I’m sure it’ll be acceptable. The only way for it to be considered as extreme is if you’re going to make internal organs like the intestines hanging out of a corpse and/or have massive blood pools.
That is too much because it exposes organs and is too realistic. But, if you lower the poly count(so instead of high poly you make it low poly), it might make it less realistic so you can use it in the game. If you’re using bender, you can use the Decimate feature.
With the cheesy nature of roblox as it currently stands, I don’t think anyone would look at this and be grossed out, barring a likely small handful of people. This is pretty tame for what it is, given that there doesn’t really seem to be a lot of blood. There are some games that are more extreme than this with blood and other forms of “gore” that are still up, not necessarily popular games but you get the point.
You would likely only receive a small punishment(just a simple warning) if you did get in trouble, so you might just want to test the waters and see what the roblox staff themselves approve of.
People like to ride on the side of caution but this will likely be fine. As stated above, this will not be good for consoles but for the rest of the devices it will be fine. Looks cool!
hm. The model we are using doesn’t show any organs (if you ignore the eye), but just exposed flesh, skin and blood. Also i do not want to make it less realistic since i am trying it to make the game realistic. Do you think the flesh is too much for roblox? I’l try to edit it if it does
Flesh isn’t really enough to make it gory, it’s the amount of detail that counts. Fantasy blood that is 2D or low poly is less gory than realistic blood with lots of detail.
Roblox allows mild blood splatter, but I think you’ve crossed the line to how far this can go. Killing children, even though they are zombified, might be a bit too much. Gore that includes organs, big no-no. Even if your game gets passed through moderation (which would be a hard challenge based on what you are describing), you’re going to have a lot of potential players leave.
This can’t be Half-Life 2-esque, so you’re gonna have to tone it down a bit,
(Also a video detailing what gore you’re talking about might help everybody a bit)
You make it sound so violent. Unlike Roblox, I’m picturing blood flowing out as the body part leaves where it is supposed to go. And probably some other stuff. My point is, the default Roblox death is like a Lego minifigure, but with a fun “oof” sound. Pretty sure what’s going on here is nothing like that.
Ok from what i see, a game called dead slate on roblox has similar gore mechanics to what i was working on. Basically people can shoot off limps and will be replaced with a destroyed version of it, and it contains blood. If i do something similar but disable it on children zombies everything should be fine right?
In my opinion that looks like a pretty cool game.
At least I would play it anyway…
But my concern is that, yes it has too much gore and that would be very unsuitable for a younger audience. I think if/when roblox release the feature to age limit games, you could release it but only for 13+ users.
