Granting audio permissions to experiences without "Edit Permissions"

As a developer for a music oriented experience, we find it impossible to allow music artists to contribute audios to our game without direct studio access. This is an inconvenience as my co-developer and I are the only ones that are able to upload audios with proper permissions.

With the changes to the audio permission system in 2022, most audios can no longer be used in experiences without explicitly granted permissions.

Giving edit permissions to every artist that wishes to contribute audios introduces unnecessary security risks.

If Roblox allowed players to grant experiences access to private audios without edit permissions would streamline our development process as music artists will be able to contribute assets directly without waiting for developers to upload it themselves.

An alternative solution would be to instead restrict the granting of audio permissions to a group role permission, similar to how it is with group uploaded UGCs and the “Create/Configure avatar items” permission. An example would be like a “Grant audio permissions” group role permission.

Thank you,

The only reason I can find behind this limitation is “but people can make a system that verified audio so they can blast everyone’s ears with bypassed audio”
Sounds like moderation issue to me. I can’t find other reason behind this.

These automatic verified audio bots already exists, which I’ve explained here:

so, the purchase/take audio button?

Roblox recently claimed that next month, composers will be able to submit their music to DistroKid (third-party) to distribute publicly on Roblox, however, unlike old assets, the asset will need to be added to the developer’s inventory in order for the sound ID to work.

A while ago they also said they would work on expanding the private audio sharing capabilities to groups, but we haven’t heard much about it since.
