When the ‘Graphics Quality’ setting in the Roblox Engine is set to 1 (for example in this case), players’ characters continue to render even when the surrounding environment is hidden. It appears that the rendering distance is linked to the camera’s perspective. As you zoom out, the game renders objects within the camera’s radius, while the area immediately around your character stops rendering. However, other players’ characters don’t seem to be properly tied to this system, causing them to remain visible instead of being rendered out like the environment.
→ Players are able to ‘ESP’ other players for an unfair advantage.
I do not use streaming enabled in this experience or any others it is happening in.
I do not have any FFlag modifications on my client. This occurs in Studio and the Roblox Desktop App.
This is what the map in the screenshot below looks like at it’s default.
Green = Player that is behind multiple walls on the left screen.
Red = The Players position who owns the right screen being able to see player green.
Latest version of Roblox Studio and Roblox Client:
Version 0.663.0.6630659 (64bit)
Expected behavior
I expect player characters to be hidden when they’re beyond the ‘distance’ threshold, just like other objects, based on the Roblox in-game ‘Graphics Quality’ setting.
