Our group got content deleted due to a DMCA claim that the owner of the copyright never reached out to us and is refusing to talk to any of us regarding releasing the group if we remove the logo (we found it on google, it’s another roblox user).
Does anyone have any recommendations on how to get the group back? We’d delete the logo if we could, but roblox already moderated it. Talking with a copyright agent right now, but they’re slow and unhelpful. Any advice is appreciated.
Probably not. You should consider yourself fortunate that your account was not terminated.
You could attempt to contact Roblox support, although it is unlikely they will assist. They tend to avoid potential legal issues as if they were made of molten lava.
It’s not my account holding the group, we’ve got a holder account if roblox decides to ban it for something they don’t like with the game, and we’re not out a few hundred thousand robux from a moderation error.
As for the “account not terminated” bit, roblox runs on a 3 strike system with copyright, did you not read that?
Oh, apologies, I misunderstood. If the strike against your asset was a Roblox DMCA error and was issued mistakenly, you will need to file a counter-notice with copyright_agent@roblox.com. This will be forwarded to the person who issued the strike and if they do not take legal action, Roblox will drop it. Please note that if the strike was valid, there is a high probability of being sued (please note that I am not a legal expert), and DMCA litigation is usually extensive and expensive. They typically issue a warning and send a DMCA email instead of terminating your account. It seems you may have confused account termination with account deactivation.
…i know. I was asking if anyone had any firsthand experience, not what was off the FAQ’s. We’ve already filed a counterclaim, but roblox is being slow as usual.
It was my experience as a person issuing the claims, not receiving them.
