I have this habit of stress-checking my payout recipients (opening their profile to inspect UserId, username, whether I’m friends with them, etc) to make sure I am paying out to the right person. Especially when I need to pay out large Robux amounts, which is common because I manage a lot of groups and pay out infrequently.
There are several ways someone could impersonate a developer (intentionally or not):
- Same/similar DisplayName
- Same/similar username
- Same/similar avatar
Currently Roblox provides these ways for me to check the recipients are who I think they are:
- Group role (“Developer”) above
- DisplayName/username together with the user’s avatar
- Can click on the user to go to their profile
It would be great to have e.g. the following to further reduce the need to double-check myself:
- On selecting the recipients, maybe show some suggested recipients instead of the empty window (e.g. people I previously paid out to)
- Show a checkmark icon or similar on each recipient indicating something along the lines of “you trust this person” (e.g. they’re on my friends list, or I paid out to them before, or they’re verified users, etc)
If Roblox can address this issue, it would be easier for me to verify in fewer clicks / double-takes that I have the right list of people.
