This has been a consistent issue that I’ve noticed for the past couple of months, but now it has actually led to confusion.
Whenever I get sent to Create.Roblox.com from Roblox.com under a group, it defaults to my personal page first under “View As” at the top right. For example, if I have the revenue dashboard bookmarked for a group and I click on it, it doesn’t actually take me to the group and I have to do extra clicks to get to the group in question.
Now the issue:
When I go to my group’s Group Payout page to pay my developer, I got sent to https://create.roblox.com/dashboard/group/payouts, which is expected behavior. However, because it defaults to “View As” my personal account, which obviously has no group payouts function, it infinitely loads, making me think that Group Payouts is completely disabled or broken. This is especially a problem on Mobile WebView where the side panel doesn’t even show up, so you can’t tell that you’re “View[ing] As” a personal account instead of the group that you’re SUPPOSED to be viewing as. It took me a while to realize that it wasn’t a bug but because Roblox didn’t actually maintain the fact that I’m accessing group payouts from a specific group.
This is especially confusing because half the time it actually does maintain this reference. For example, if I go to Creator Hub from “configure this item” under a UGC item, it actually goes to the item’s configure page and I’m viewing as the group that the UGC item is under. However, if I go to Group > Events and try to create an event, it brings me back to “View As” [my account].
Expected behavior
If I’m entering Creator Hub from Roblox.com that’s referencing a specific group, I expect to not be reverted to “View As” [my account] but actually to view as the group that I entered from.
Also, if I can access group payouts as my personal account even by accident, I expect an empty state that tells me this is not possible and not infinite loading as I thought it was just taking forever.
