Description:
When a group name is moderated and replaced with a “[ Content Deleted ####### ]” title, the previous valid name — the one that was just removed — no longer appears in the “Previous Names” list. This behavior started with the new group UI.
Before the new group layout was introduced, every group name change — including moderated names and deletions — would be logged in the “Previous Names” section. This allowed users to view the full history of a group’s name changes. Now, with the new UI, when a group name is deleted due to moderation, the previous valid name is simply skipped in the log. This makes it impossible to track what the group’s last valid name was before it was removed.
Where it happens:
This happens for all Roblox groups. Some examples:
-
@Szeloba’s group:
Group: https://www.roblox.com/communities/6948532/Content-Deleted-6948532
The group name was changed from “idea.exe” to “[ Content Deleted 6948532 ]” after moderation. However, “idea.exe” is missing from the “Previous Names” list, even though it was the group’s last valid name before deletion. Only an earlier name like “ArachnoArt” shows. The moderated name is missing.
I don’t have advanced tools, but if you check the Wayback Machine, you’ll see that the name “idea.exe” was indeed used. The name was removed because “.exe” is flagged as off-platform direction:
-
Easy.gg group:
Group: https://www.roblox.com/communities/5774246/Content-Deleted-5774246
This group often has its name deleted and restored because “.gg” is considered an offsite link. The group repeatedly switches between “Easy.gg” and “[ Content Deleted 5774246 ]”. However, in the “Previous Names” list, only the “Easy.gg” names are recorded — the “[ Content Deleted 5774246 ]” entries are completely missing. As a result, it appears as if the group has just been renamed to “Easy.gg” over and over again, when in reality, the name was being moderated and temporarily replaced each time. In the old UI, we would expect to see each content-deleted name logged in the history between the valid “Easy.gg” entries — for example:
Easy.gg → [ Content Deleted 5774246 ] → Easy.gg → [ Content Deleted 5774246 ] → Easy.gg
Now, the list just shows:
Easy.gg → Easy.gg → Easy.gg
,
which hides the moderation history entirely.
When it happens:
This issue began after the new group UI was introduced, which rolled out less than a week ago (early June 2025). The problem persists as of June 13, 2025 (UTC+3).
Reproduction Steps:
- Create or rename a group with a name that is likely to be moderated (e.g., containing “.gg” or “.exe”).
- Wait for Roblox moderation to replace the group name with “[ Content Deleted ####### ]”.
- Open the group’s “Previous Names” section via the “more” dropdown.
Expected:
All group name changes are recorded — both the last valid name before moderation and the “[ Content Deleted ####### ]” name should appear in the history.
Actual:
One or both names are skipped. Either the valid name that was moderated is missing, or the “[ Content Deleted ####### ]” name does not appear in the log.
