So I’m working on a new game and one of the first things I noticed is it looks perfect in studio, but when I actually join it on ROBLOX, the GUIs are extremely blurry.
I am using a mac, but I have used numerous other laptops/desktops. Even asked my friend to test the game with his high-end gaming PC. While it’s less noticeable, you can clearly see that the images are not as defined and the text is distorted.
I’ve also tinkered with graphics quality to see if it could be causing this, and concluded it has no effect on UI.
I can’t imagine any reason this could be happening. Why does it look perfect in studio, but not in the actual game? I’ve had no luck at all in preventing this from happening, and concluded it’s a ROBLOX issue. I’m making this post wondering if anyone knows what’s going on, if there’s something I can do to fix it, or if ROBLOX has to fix it. If it is a ROBLOX issue, I’d appreciate if someone made efforts to resolve it.
(I would’ve posted this in bug reports, but my rank is not high enough and art design seems like a fitting category since it’s about “everything related to graphics and UI design.”
There’s a bug report about this from two years ago which outlined the same issue – unfortunately, no solutions came out from it yet if it really is a bug with the engine:
I’m just surprised because this should be a quick fix, and it seems to affect basically every game, yet it’s been happening for years. Fixing it would be much better than adding a few minor quality-of-life updates.
I hope there’s gonna be a fix for that in the near future. Mobile seems to look just like in studio though. It’s only on computer that the blurriness comes into effect.
