GUN BUILDERS, ANIMATORS! Working on a 3rd person shooter and we need you! Progress pics posted :)

Hi.

My team is working on a third person cover-based tactical shooter. Ghost Recon and The Division inspired.
We are called PAX Corporation. I know. Absurd name for a game development team, but it plays a role in our games’ story.

Our first project is to release a fast paced ‘demo’ of our shooter. I say demo because this is only just a small fraction of a larger project. For our first beta release, this game is going to feature 3 maps, 3 game modes, and at least 7 guns (though I’d like to release with 10). Right now we have 2/3 maps nearing completion, but we have NO GUNS or modular attachments!

Map 1: Research Facility

Map 2: Hospital

More pictures of our progress will be posted at the bottom.

With that said, I’d like to have a long term gun modeler. I need someone loyal, who can commit to this long term project. I’ll elaborate on this below. If we release beta with 7 weapons, then I want to be able to gradually build our arsenal and push out updates to our game on a regular basis. and yes of course we will try to monetize the shedletsky out of this

I also need an animator who can work with the R15 rig and create running, walking, crouching, proning, strafing, combat roll, and cover animations for us. I’m doing the animations for us right now, but I’d prefer someone far more experienced than me to lift this burden off of me. pls :frowning:

Project Deadline: April 21, 2017
Flexibility: more flexible than yur mum. On a serious note, I understand April - May gets pretty rough in school with exam season so I’m willing to be lenient with the devs on this. I will still push for this deadline. The guns (at least 7) will need to be completed by late March into early April. After beta release, we won’t be too demanding. If you can complete a gun bi-weekly, it would make me happy enough to propose to you.

The Bigger Project
When we release this game for beta, we will also be launching a faction-based roleplay military group. We call this Atlas. This is not the full name. The game and the group will go hand in hand. Each of the maps are created for their tactical layout and to serve as a crucial back-story to the lore of the group. Players will be incentivized to join the group for special perks. Members of Atlas will be encouraged to continue playing the game. Getting kills will earn them credits and XP, two things which will be carried on in the Atlas universe. Once they’ve earned a certain amount of credits, they will be automatically promoted to the next rank in the group. This is done through the group API, where a bot will promote and demote players based on the XP their character has.

High ranking officers in the group will be able to host events and manually award members XP through this interface. It will be present in all Atlas related facilities.

The logic behind this model is to secure a strong foundation. The game gives life to the group and the group sustains the game. I have seen many military groups try to VIP recruit people through crappy tycoons. It is not an effective long term method. Recruiting kids, who like sitting around in a little pizza factory tycoon waiting for cash to flow, into military groups does not keep them engaged for long and is the wrong target audience. We are creating a shooter. Our target audience is people who like to play shoot 'em up games. These are the people we recruit into our RP military. The transition from our game to our group is seamless and immersive.

Members who join the group for the first time will be teleported to our shoot house facility. Here, they will be guided through a basic tutorial over our combat, introduced to our lore, and required to complete a timed shooting course in order to proceed to the next rank. Experienced players may return to this facility to earn silver, gold, or platinum medals by shooting more targets in the fastest time. Earning these medals will reward them with rare guns, gun skins, EXP, or powerful augment points.

After completing the course, they will be teleported to the army barracks. Here, they can customize their character or use it as a social hub to compete against other players in mini board games.

Our clothing design created 5 base outfits. Each of these 5 will have 4 variants made. Total of 20 available clothing options for our members to purchase from. Here’s one of the outfits.

Once they’ve completed the basic tutorial, they are free to interact with other members of the group. They will have the option to join one faction out of four and compete against each other in a city that will facilitate these battles and serve as a social hub for military roleplay.
