Handyman Version 2.5 Update Log

additions:

  • Thanks to your contributions at Handy’s shop, he has been able to invest the materials into terraforming and providing infrastructure to the land (New Map).
  • New vehicle shop! Purchase keys to vehicles to spawn them!
  • New random item shop! (Items here refresh every 24 hours.)
  • Added dynamic seasons! (Seasons will change various things about the game: ex: farming is slower during the winter)
  • New badges!

  • Players can now press the spacebar or the A button to get up from being ragdolled.
  • Tree leaves now have windshake.
  • VR players can now bring a food item to their mouth to eat it.
  • VR players can now craft items (X on an oculus).
  • Your character now moves to the position of your VR headset, no need to recenter yourself anymore!
  • Added in the crafting guide from Handyman Survival.
  • Added a first person ragdoll camera! (You can toggle this off by pressing the camera icon in the top right).

changes:

  • Resource gathering tools have been given a makeover.
  • Gravity gun now shoots items away from the player instead of dropping them.
  • Gravity gun now has an aim beam similar to the physics gun.
  • Torch model updated.
  • Players no longer auto ungrab large objects when ragdolled.
  • Hands now properly align to physics items when ragdolled.
  • Levers should be more resistant to switching.
  • Arms/Hands should no longer lag behind the player.
  • Better positioning of hands when looking down/up.
  • VR players will no longer take any fall damage.
  • Fishing Pole and resource gathering tools are now physics items.
  • Player character is more properly aligned for VR players.
  • Players can no longer crouch while swimming (this caused you to be unable to move in the water).
  • VR climbing is much more responsive.
  • Great oak trees can now be cut down. They take longer to cut than regular trees, but have better drop chances for items.
  • The Great Great Oak Tree can now be cut down.
  • Dirt piles now have the same respawn time as trees/mines.
  • Climbing on top of things should be a bit easier now.
  • Snow properly removed from buildings.
  • Players can no longer grab climbable objects made of glass, ice, or glacier now.
  • Climbing should be much easier, character now aligns with your camera.
  • Players take less fall damage when landing in water.
  • Weather is better optimized for low graphics.
  • Physics/Gravity guns now have better interactions with levers, sliders, etc.
  • Water waves are now affected by the weather conditions.

  • Dirt, Seeds are now stackable.
  • Soul of the Sky/Developer Texture now respawn after a while.
  • Swords can now be equipped in the waist slot.
  • Coils can now be equipped to arm slots, coils must be equipped to these slots to affect your character.
  • Clouds change color depending on the time of day, no more bright clouds at midnight.
  • Rain/Splash particles are now affected by light.
  • FlashLight changed to Flashlight
  • Grass/LeafyGrass changes color as the temperature changes.
  • Fishing rod reel-in time decreased.
  • Footplanting is now more accurate based on your character’s height.
  • Footstep sounds properly align to footplanting.

  • Fixed crafted items not having a despawn timer.
  • Fixed items displaying an incorrect name.
  • Some client-side memory optimizations.
  • Some server-side optimizations.
  • Fixed being unable to jump after being ragdolled.
  • Fixed wagons and wheelbarrows from teleporting back when you let go of them.
  • Fixed players being able to see grab icons when they aren’t attempting to grab something.
  • Fixed resources like trees, dirt piles, and mines not respawning.
  • VR players should no longer be able to ragdoll.

  • Inventory now properly highlights for VR players.
  • VR players can now drop items that are extendable for normal players.
  • VR players should no longer see the grab icon.
  • Fixed some item duplication glitches.

  • Physics/Gravity Gun can no longer pick up items that players are holding.
  • Players can no longer grab items held by the physics/gravity gun (this doesn’t apply to large objects like a box).
  • Fixed crouching in water.
  • Crafted items now save in your hands.
  • Layered clothing will no longer cut off visibility of player arms while in first person.
  • Items should no longer be lost when the game is updated.
  • Accessory slots will no longer light up for items that can’t be stored there.
  • Fixed grab positions on moving items/when the player is moving.
  • Resetting and leaving will not delete held items.
  • Wind ambience should be playing again.
  • Planks should no longer be able to attach to players.
  • Lightning should now properly fling players.
  • Gravity Gun aim beam is no longer visible in the inventory.
  • Fixed a bug where players couldn’t stack items in the inventory.

seasons gameplay changes:

  • 4 seasons: spring, summer, autumn, winter
  • Fishing (slower in the winter, faster in autumn)
  • Trees (will not regrow during the winter, grow faster in the spring)
  • Crops (grow slow during winter, grow faster in the spring/fall)
