One night while I was trying to sleep, I thought of a game idea. It would be a “story game” of sorts, but go far beyond. Problem is, I’m pretty terrible at building. I just wanted to share my idea and get some feedback.
My idea was to disguise under a “High school RP” game with AI teachers. Throughout the map, you would find clues to the storyline, usually in the form of cryptic puzzles.
A puzzle idea I had was room numbers in a wing of the school being out of order, and the last digit of those numbers forming a player ID to reveal lore.
If it isn’t already obvious, this is heavily inspired by FnAF. (yes I know the game is dead just bear with me)
As a side-note, I haven’t used the DevForum in a while and am not really sure if this is the correct category.
Excited for your feedback!

I think the concept is great. I love horror games on Roblox especially puzzle related ones.
I think the concept works, you could take some inspiration from successful puzzle, horror games like Alone in a Dark House which uses a similar concept. It tells a story through interactive puzzles whilst at the same time you’re trying to avoid the ghost of a young adult.
Here’s a link for reference so you can take a look. Alone in a Dark House [Horror] - Roblox
You should consider your story and concept before designing your game I think. Maybe write your own lore about something that happened in the school, establish who you’re playing as and who or what you’re trying to get away from. Once you have your lore written then you should begin designing your game and design your character models.
It’s always nice to see more horror games pop up so good luck with it.

The concept is good, just think more in depth of how it will look how the story-line goes etc and you may be onto something.
With you saying you do not know how to build you can hire builders, modellers even scripters for a percentage of the games profits keep working into this idea and you never know it may turn out very good.
Horror games are always nice - good luck

I would hire people except for the fact that I’m broke.
I would probably be down to make a few assets for that game. The reason why I wouldn’t make a larger amount of the game is because I lack that sort of attention span.
a lot of people can be hired under a percentage payment - this means when your game is released and players start buying gamepasses, developer products you will earn robux for whatever price you set them on - you would most likely wait a month for the funds to gather up and then pay the person the percentage of the funds.
example; say you give the builder 25% of the profit and in the first month you make 1,200,000R$ the builder would get around 900,00R$ in that first month and you would continue that forever really.
