Hi guys, hope you guys are doing mythical today. I just wrote a new song, it is far from finish but I figure I want some thoughts from everyone on the song. Have a listen to the song and don’t be shy to tell me what you think! I love a good old constructive criticism :D.

What would this song be used for? I like it, maybe a RP or a Hotel game or something? Very nice job.

I think the piano is lacking expressiveness when it comes to how each note is played.

Here’s some tips:

  1. Try adjusting velocities of each note so they sound slightly different, make a conscious choice on how you want it to flow
  2. You can offset the piano notes slightly to the left and right, it makes it more “humanized” and less robotic

Thank you for your feedback! I’m aware of the lack of production the song has and that will be fixed. I’m curious to know what’s your thoughts on the music writing itself?

Sounds great, I love the progression of the melody/harmony.

Some things I could suggest:

  • The piano is panned to the left too much- separate the left and right hand playing into two tracks and pan the left hand to the right.
  • I like the sound the piano has, but make it brighter! Add a bit of treble to the piano so the melody shines more- this won’t make it sound less vintage, just clearer.
  • The strings have too much attack and too little release, so it sounds “broken”. If you can, make the attack faster so the notes join together more clearly.

The writing itself is splendid. It is thematically fitting for the title too.
