Have the Resolution increased for Clothing?

Since we can upload decals over 1,000 pixels, can we have the resolution limit (if there’s any) for shirts, pants, etc. increased? So we can have our clothing in more clarity. I’m not fairly interested in making shirts, etc. so I’m just throwing this out there. Any thoughts?

Template size is an issue, so I assume there may be compatibility issues? f you really want HQ clothes in your games though (FOR NOW – NOT SAYING PROBLEM IS ACCEPTABLE. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE), you can use Surface GUIs to create clothing from that 1000x1000 resolution decal.

You can upload giant decals because you as the game creator have control over how they are used, and you can make sure that you’re not using up too much texture memory in your place with too many giant textures.

You cannot control what textures people are going to be bringing into your place via their clothing + gear, so those textures naturally have to be lower resolution to ensure that they will not become a problem when there are many people in your place.

That and it could take more longer for the character’s appearance to load once spawned for the first time depending on the person’s internet. Also, the SurfaceGui thing you’ve mentioned, would it work for bevels on the character’s arm or do you have to remove them? I’m guessing you’ll have to remove the bevels to make it look right.

@Stravant: That is also right. More large textures machines will have to fetch, mostly in large servers full of players. I tend to keep most of my textures through 300-400 pixels as I can.
