Having issues deleting a Roblox account?

I’m having problems deleting one of my Roblox accounts.

I submitted a Support Form to delete it. Here’s how I filled it out.

A few seconds later, I got this automated message from them. (Read the highlighted parts only)


I replied to them confirming that I acknowledge these requirements and have provided the requested information.

I haven’t received a reply from them yet.

Why is that happening?

Is it because I’m based in a jurisdiction which offers the requested data privacy rights? What does that even mean?

It will take a few days. Just be patient. Deleting an account isn’t an immediate event.

I requested another one a few months ago and haven’t got the account deleted, so I requested a new one today.

Jurisdiction is a fancy word for the country you live in. The data privacy rights are laws (or the lack of them) that your country enforces.

Unless you do not live in the West or other first-world countries, I don’t think it is going to be a problem for you to get your account deleted. The countries that fall under these criteria almost always have said laws. For clarification’s sake, in which country do you live?

  1. Are you trying to simply archive your account so to speak (get rid of it but not everything it’s done) or actually completely nuke it as if it never existed (actually delete it like support is trying to get you to do) - If you just wanna archive it, follow the deactivation instructions on the email you got, but if you actually wanna nuke it, follow the data privacy request instructions (the ones you slapped red boxes in)

AFAIK California and anywhere in the EU are the only places with laws in place to require Roblox to give right to be forgotten (as well as right to your data) - Roblox refuses to respect it’s users privacy outside of those countries for zero explainable reason, so if you aren’t in either of those places you’re flat out of luck. (There may be more places but I can’t remember any others - someone feel free to let me know if there are any more I should know about)


Support, especially for serious legal matters including right to be forgotten/data privacy request, NEVER takes their job seriously (source: takedown request not actioned on for 8 months, claimed several times to have deleted my original request yet clearly hadn’t as they quietly actioned on it eventually afterwards)

Do not expect anything for a good 30 days minimum. If you do reach a month and there has been zero action taken, start bumping the ticket once a week. Do so until they actually follow through. That’s your only hope of getting ANYTHING legal related done through them.

I live in Egypt. Is that the reason why I can’t make a RTBF request?

Yes. I don’t know about the laws of Egypt but I’ve never heard of it having any sort of data protection laws like the EU does.

As mentioned before, it would cost nothing for Roblox to offer these services worldwide, but they really love hoarding your data so obviously they’re gonna make it as difficult as possible for everyone to do anything about it.
