Plain and simple, the Headless Horseman package’s texture has a noticable dip in quality when in r15. 1st image is in r6, while the 2nd is in r15. While the screenshots were taken in the avatar editor, I have seen this problem still occur in any game that defaults to r15.
I dont believe I’m alone in thinking this is unintentional. Given how rarely the full package is used, as well as how rare it is in general, I also find it understandable that this problem exists.
NOTE : This is my first bug report, and I apologize if I made any errors in posting this!
I don’t believe this is a bug, all accessories and bundles on R6 are 512/256 (it turns to 256 depending on how many accessories your character is wearing) whereas R15 is 1024 for both textures and bundles.
I’ve been making UGC accessories for a few years now so I’ve had to deal with this quality issue when making things as I have to keep in mind it the quality changes depending on if the character is in r15 or r6 and as well as how many accessories the player has on, I believe there are a few other factors related to the game you’re playing as well.
However It would be nice for R6 to have 1024 textures.
Think you read the post wrong, they’re not referring to R6’s texture limits. Judging by these screenshots, the R6 version looks cleaner than the R15 version.
Thank you for flagging this. We did some investigation, and found the reason why. The way the UVs are laid out on the R6 gives the torso a lot more texture space than what was given to R15, hence the better quality.
We’re not updating this at this time, since this is a low impact bug on an old Avatar item, and we do not have the resources to tackle this, especially since this will be a fix that needs to time to do.
