Hello! I'm Zeliphyr! Have Any Tips For Me?

Hi Everyone! My name is Zeliphyr, and I am a fairly new Roblox Developer who is currently creating a game! Why I’m posting here is because I want to get to know and understand this community better and become known across here.

The reason I chose this topic though is to ask if any experienced developers had some advice for game creation or some cool tips on the Developer Forum.

Thanks! I hope I get to know all of you better!

Welcome to the community! Glad to see we have new people rolling in!

I have some advice on some forum related stuff and game stuff!

    1. Look into forum features! These include making text bold or using proper syntax when uploading code, overall it just helps a whole lot when reading posts.
    1. Dont be afraid to ask. I know when I started out I was too scared to ask questions on the forum thinking that they we’re really simple and I was just dumb cause I couldnt figure it out. Ask anyways, it’ll save you a lot of time and help you find the answer sooner!
    1. Consider getting me some food, I am hungry.
    1. If you are creating a big game, MARKET IT!! As soon as you start working on a big project instantly start collecting feedback and market it, it helps a lot to grow a community before releasing a product or a game.

Those are just some tips I have at the top of my head, I hope you enjoy your stay and I look forward to what you create!

That sounds like a nice tip you have for me

This is a great thing for real life aswell! Thanks for the tip!

That’s funny! Maybe I will

Thanks! That’s my goal! Not of course to become number 1 on the lists day 1, but just to make a fun and unique game for all!

Thanks for your tips! I will use them all!

Make use of plugins, they can really speed up game development

Yes! They can really come in handy! Though some of them cost robux, they are still quite useful!

Plugins are unable to be sold for Robux anymore. They must be free or require payment IN USD.

Yall seem like very good people, can’t wait to get to know all of you!

I am lol, and I know Frodev is, but don’t get carried away their are alot of jerks in this community(Roblox Development)

Here’s some things you should know:

Very long list of stuff

  • Talent Hub has a 99% scam chance and 99% chance the poster is an 8 year old
  • Roblox mods are really strict about off-topic replies
  • Blue Notifications (devforum) are replies and stuff
  • Green Notifications (devforum) are either warnings from mods or private messages
  • You can message someone by clicking on their profile and clicking message. Upon sending a message, you can add or remove people to or from it, like a group chat. If you want, you can try and send me a message.
  • It’s impossible to become a Regular so you need to apply for @AllowBugReports and @AllowFeatureRequests if you want to post in those categories. I posted my application a while ago but they haven’t submitted it. If you want, you could also file a bug report to @Bug-Support, but I don’t know about feature requests

Now for even more stuff

  • There are other categories beside scripting. It’s just that scripting is considered very important because it makes your game actually work. But what’s the point of a working game if it doesn’t have a map? Or sounds? I relate to scripting alot because that’s my main field. I also do ui.
  • Free models are ok, just don’t use them too much. They could have dangerous malware.
  • Print statements are mainly used for debugging, which means fixing code.
  • NEVER watch videos like “How to learn scripting in 30 minutes.” Watch “beginner scripting tutorial”.
  • There are people like me that will sometimes do things for you for free but you should watch out. They could easily ruin your game.
  • There will be times you wanna ragequit. Deal with it.

Sorry for the long list of stuff

Also if you need any bit of help contact me but don’t trust me. Trusting people too often could easily lead to your game being destroyed. Only ask for help from me if you think I’m a good person. Also, when hiring someone to do things, ask for their “Portfolio”. This means their previous work and such. It also shows are good they are.

Hi I guess
I’m also new, joined this week

Oh no! Hopefully I don’t encounter one anytime soon!

Yeah I noticed some people saying “50,000 Robux for 2 frames.” Like c’mon now!

Yeah, I’ll make sure to abide more carefully

I got one from you!

I also got one! :astonished:

Good to know! That will definitely come in handy later on!

Oh no! Maybe I could try to find out how to become a Regular member!

Yeah! Different elements in your game really make it come together well!

I’ve seen videos on that, and I also try to refrain from them whenever I can.

Good thing! I hate bugs, so this will be very useful!

Yeah, kinda like those “How to get abs in 5 minutes” tutorials, either a scam, or misleading in some way.

Gotta be careful! Noted!

Yes, never quit, good idea.

Don’t worry about it! That was the purpose of this post!

Good to know! Don’t be too reliant on one person! Noted!

Yay! I have somebody to relate with! Good luck on your development Journey @RememberToSmile01

For the most part we are. Just dont be around when roblox goes down, everyone starts meming so its a little hard to be civil when everyone is clowning on you.

So for the most part the community is good, there are times not so much

Thats good news! Have a great day all y’all and thanks for the advice!
