Hello! I recently created a new group and a friend of mine created two quick logos. I would appreciate it if you would tell me which logo I should use as a placeholder until I get a professionally done logo. If you want you can also join the group here.

Personally I think the first one is better since the second one has nothing to do with news.
Edit: Learned that VCD means very cold 
Thanks, the second one was supposed to be related to the name of the news group means VCD means Very Cold.
I think the first one would fit better, as it seems more like a news logo. The second one seems like it would be confused with winter or Christmas.
