I feel like there should be a subsection on here like this. Sort of like Scripting/Building helpers, but filtering out the current of spam frequently found in the ROBLOX versions. Good?

Yeh, the first thread I made containing a script yesterday, the first post was made referring me to the Scripting Helpers forum, as if I didn’t know it existed. Kinda rude, but I’d really appreciate a scripters forum here.
Many a time we reach problems in our games and it is nice to have a group of knowledgeable people to turn to for help. Also collaboration is good for more than one party. I’ll admit, before Scripting Helpers turned shit, I learn so so much from it from smart people such as Osyris going about their business helping everyone who posted in the forum.
Scripting Helpers on the ROBLOX main site just… doesn’t cut it any more. 90% (arguably) of the people there don’t help anyone, they just post their scripts looking for help. Many post threads like [size=5]“How U SCIPT? Plz teech Mi!”, “Paying rawbuckxz fer SCRIPTOR”, and “dis free modul sxript i plagerised dunt werk halp”[/size] etc.
It’s not really any environment to seek help anymore. It’s more cringe-worthy than collaborative.
Also, has anyone seen the SHEER VOLUME of help requests there?

I’m there right now and I don’t think anyone knows anything about what I am asking or they are too afraid to ask me to clarify

That’s the other thing buddy, the skill of people there isn’t very high any more. Since people like Osyris stopped helping (correct me if I’m wrong) it’s just been plummeting.

Now you must wait like 12 hours, that’s the bad thing. The site is generally low populated.

We have been talking about the possibility of creating an additional forum for these types of questions as they are definitely development related. We would like encourage the discussion of all topics related to the development of games on ROBLOX, including asking other developer community members for help with code, algorithm or modeling questions.
The council of admins have decided that we do not need a separate forum for this. Help and collaboration posts can be posted in the main development discussion forum. The main forum does not get so much traffic that adding in some help and collaboration posts will detract from anything. We will post guidelines about how help and collaboration posts should be presented, to reduce a chance of spam or noobishness.
