[HELP] How to animate smoother like blender?

Hey there! I am an upcoming Animator on ROBLOX. I want my animations smoother, but I don’t know where to start. If there are any ways you can help me, please comment! I’ve been wanting to animate on blender for a lot of games I’ve been making, but tutorials are too confusing for me. Any suggestions?

Thanks for stopping by!

The only way to get better at something is by practicing so I suggest you just practice and I guarantee you will be a lot better from when you frist started!

I think this should be in #help-and-feedback .

With the Roblox animator you can’t change the easing style, a good plugin to use is Moon Animator. And like the other person said, practise!

This topic would better fit in the Help and Feedback category.

Actually… Yes, it does.

Now best thing is to do is using reference and follow tutorials for things you don’t seem to understand!
You can even make your own reference by recording your own movements in a video, and try to replicate that inside Blender.

Edit:
Best way to start in my opinion (in order):

  1. Find reference;
(Something easy to begin with; a bouncing ball is a great practice which even many professionals appear to use!)
  2. Get familiar with Blender and its (Animation) tools.
    (Use tutorials where necessary)
  3. Mess around with what you know until you completely understand it, then take it a step further.

Thanks! But, in blender tutorials you always have to download some kind of file. I don’t always trust that kind of stuff.

You can still technically download them without harming anything; as long as you have a powerful antivirus, there should be nothing to worry about.
Most tutorials also explain the ways of animation without you needing a demo-file.

In the case you’d still rather not download files, best way to go then is:

  1. Understanding (Basic) Animation Principles

(This is a 2D representation but applies just as much to 3D)
  2. Understanding Animation in Blender

    (For terms, (hot)keys and such)
  3. Rigging a Character

  4. Then practice.

Thanks! This helps me so much more! I’ve watched the first few minutes of the “12 Principles of Animation” and it seems like a new world has opened up in my eyes! Thanks you so much for commenting and helping me!
