Hi guys! I made a game called untitled gun game, advertised the game with 26 credits! The game constantly had players, however it had some failures. The session length was only 4.5min! Which is half of what it should be. Some people joined the game then left within 20 seconds. Most people left after 5 minutes of playing! I was looking for advice to keep my players engaged for my next advertisement. Or should I just scrap the game.
I just joined and it looks kinda confusing, I mean I don’t see the bacons to shoot anywhere. Also if the game has less players there’s no one to shoot, so players would leave.
Feels too limited, like there’s not enough to do. I’m not sure.
I think it’s because there’s not really much to do, endless killing is something we already have like games such as arsenal. It needs to be unique you know? Maybe add like some random events such as like huge fog or something.
Good Idea. I will work on adding that, I feel like I need a tutorial or something many people leave right at the start, the rest stay engaged for 8ish min, which is what I need
Tutorials are very bad, especially to design games like this. They are short-term fixes and usually have bad unoptimized code, I recommend just making it yourself.
I joined and already saw the first major problem: there’s no one to play with. I’d at least stay longer than a couple minutes if there were NPCs wandering around to attack.
I agree with Amritss that it should have a Unique Selling Point, otherwise players will just go back to playing other popular games that are similar to this game.
I don’t have any good ideas for you but I’m sure ChatGPT can (if you’re lucky) generate some decent ideas.
I feel like players get confused of the game loop, kill then buy new guns, some people don’t figure it out. I need something to help players but don’t know, what will work the best
Yeah! When I advertised there were always players in the game! As we were discussing I think I need random events to keep the players who played for 5+ min engaged. And something to teach the gameloop to players
I feel like they wouldnt click it, oh maybe I can add a notifcation when you can afford a new gun?(will be complex). Id say 50% of the players get the gameloop and play, but the other 50% leave before understanding. But events is a awesome idea. That I will be adding
