I am having light show through the bottom of my meshes where they join (either other meshes or parts) and it makes it look like there is a gap but there is NO gap. I have tried to make the mesh overlap, I have tried to make the mesh with different shading in blender (shade smooth or shade flat). I currently import my meshes as .fbx .
Here are two images of what I am talking about:
Here the mesh (curve) is sitting flush with the cylinder part.
I, personally, do not believe that you can fix this other than turning off cast-shadows on the mesh.
You could also try making the mesh thicker (if it wonât mess up your build.)
Thin Parts and MeshParts allow light through them to some extent. This is shown in buildings where light âleaksâ in from other rooms and outside light sources.
Thank you. Both methods seem to work. I am not sure about having things that donât cast shadows so will go back and see how thick I can make the walls without making the building look like a fortress.
Probably, but I wouldnât depend on it.
It all comes down to the amount of computing power Roblox wants to put into Graphics rendering. Sure they could make places look ultra-realistic, but right now gameplay would be affected.
Fair. I think I have figured out how to compensate with additional indoor lighting anyways⌠or well I have yet to play with that but it seems to me that other indoor builds with custom lights donât have this issue so Iâm about to go play with that.
