Can you perhaps explain on what your going for, house if I were to guess the theme you’re going for is some kind of building or a house?
Regarding this is part of an overhang roof in the front of houses or buildings you’ll see in the real world if so I’m going to have to go with the 3 one the 2 one looks like a metal material you’ll see on a barn or steal house something along those lines, however there’s not more information inside your post consider adding more details into your thread so we can get a better understanding on what you’re going for.
Even though people have suggested the 1st image is good I’ll have to disagree there because houses have those (clapboard or siding). I provided an image below for an example, however I could be wrong because there isn’t a whole lot of information clarifying what type of build it is
What you have already looks great, and I believe both options would work well. I do believe, though, that one option will work better than the other.
Here. I’ll put a poll so anyone browsing this can vote without having to post.
Red Wall
Green Wall

My opinion is that it should be the green option. If it’s and outdoor wall then choose the green option, because wood shingles do exist, and most exterior wooden walls will be horizontal. Many suburban and modern homes use horizontal wooding although I don’t know why in particular. Use a quick google search to see that what I’m saying is true.
That most of the time wooden walls will be horizontal. Seriously, search “exterior wooden wall” and look at the results. A steel wall is what would look like the first option. Those quick, bumpy edges commonly found on metal plates.
Vertical wooden walls are used sometimes, and due exist, but aren’t found as often. One thing that could help is if you’d show an image with both walls on the pre-existing railing so that we could judge it better. Right now I have to imagine what it would looks like. Knowing what type of house you’ve been going for would also be helpful.
I’ll provide some images to prove my point.
Anyways, hope this helped. Good luck on whatever you’re making.
Thank you, for the information this is very much appreciated.
In regards to this, perhaps it would be good to choose the 1st material because it would match the theme your going for while the second material it would work, but I normally see a steel kind of material added to the outer part of the build, however it really depends on which material suits your liking I don’t see much of the 2 material most of the times it’s the 1 one.
At the start hope to see the final product it’ll also be good to research these builds and see what material it features.
I like the first one a lot more as it’s much more seamless, unlike the the second wall where you can see the end of the parts that make up the bricks, plus the second one was more shadows, this makes it look less good. Perhaps if the second one’s parts that make up the bricks weren’t so tilted then it would look a little better.
Reference images are good for gathering or getting ideas on what to put on your house or what things it features at the start, it’s good so far I’m just not liking the placements of the roof straight parts - insofar that it doesn’t properly match the theme of the rest of the house.
I would replace it with a more steel roof farm houses features those objects so that it conforms to a better look yet I’m sure the house material should be the same as the roof steel itself.
Perhaps add some lights to the walls. Chairs and other decorative objects potted plants; I would give the roof some material.
