Help me name this Dragon for game's Boss fight

This guy is the final Boss for the first map, what do you think?

And it still needs a name! I’m terrible at coming up with cool names. Any ideas? He’ll be the main baddie that other characters will reference in dialogue, so the name will come up quite a bit.

Cool dragon, I think the name Theon would be cool. Not sure though. Maybe Titus or Remus.

draconem which means ‘huge serpent’ the word dragon is derived from this word

Hmmm maybe… “Earthdrake” (Earthdraken) or “Quakedrake” (QuakenDraken)?, “Earthquake” + “Drake”

Also “Quake” and “Drake” kind of rhyme together.

The name can depend on the boss abilities, could you give more in-depth detail about it?

P.S. The UI looks neat!

Maybe some variation of “Invicta”. Possibly “Invictus”, “Invictum”, “Invictonomous” or maybe “Invictomotronous” xD (I mean just the word Invicta could work too!)

Wow, look amazing. Some names could be Arckion, Metuza, Barbazaka, and Tetunaza.

In the bottom right corner of the screen one of the guis say unsheat. Shouldn’t it say unsheath?

Some dragon name ideas: Ogat, Tandryer, Olrerum, Grilzryrth, Kembas, Xeilzricrem, Rylzret, Jilberth, Jyrveras, Ylbid, Pithiss, Umi, Terseras, Taylbierth

Valorix.
Or, UnfriendlyStoneGolem.

This is a good idea, though assuming the dragon is a “he” I would suggest using Invictus since Invicta is the feminine form of this adjective.

First thing that came to me was Tywrath.

Balaur maybe? Balaur is a small gliding dinosaur, related to avian dinosaurs which are the ancestors of birds, and it means dragon in romanian, which is my native language. Thoughts?

Pronunciation: [Bala-oowr/ Ba-lar / Boo-lar] (Bala-oowr is a more romanian pronunciation, Ba-lar is a more general pronunciation, and Boo-lar was my first pronunciation and looking at the dinosaur in dinosaur simulator.)

Tetunaza sounds pretty good to me, also @FriendlyStoneGolem is there a link to the game?

Mudbert or Muddle

  • Ignis (latin for fire)
  • Furore (latin for fury)
  • Dominus (latin for lord/master)
  • Miseros Morsu (latin for fangs)

Mix dominus with any of the top two for a cool name

thanks everyone, I will add all these to the list and eventually we’ll do a poll in Discord to thin it down and/or expand. I think we have some good ideas to start with.

Yeah, he’s a regular “fire” dragon, he can fly, hover, and shoot fire stream out of his mouth. also when on the ground he does a claw attack and a stomp attack.

yeah, actually it should be “Unsheathe”, but that’s a bug with the font size. though I will actually likely change it to something else that’s easier to read and not such a mouthful

lol! not a bad idea…

I like this one, it reminds me of the Balrog in LOTR but not too similar

not yet, still under development, but I hope to release an Early Access version within a couple of months at the latest. I will make sure to post here again once I do. If you want to keep up with development, we do regular sneak peeks at our Discord channel (link above)

Hey, quick question, will there be a skill tree? Like every time you level up or something, you gain a skill point, and then you can “buy” certain abilities with skill points like entry point, notoriety, and other games like that. Just wondering.

MORTA would be really cool, it’s the name of the roman goddess of death :grinning:

There’s something like that but it works a bit differently. There are 10 skills that you level up by using them (sneaking, sprinting, one handed weapon, etc) like Skyrim. This gives you upgrade points which you can spend to increase either your hearts, or your stamina, similar to the Spirit Orbs in Breath of the Wild.
Over on the Discord channel we posted a screenshot of the skills UI if you’re interested in seeing the full list
