I think this colour theme looks okay, but how do you think it can be improved?
I will add a level II and level III gamepass option but I’m currently struggling with colour schemes/design to make them more appealing.
Personally, I’m not sure if it’s the dev forum or the images itself, but I’d suggest a less wider shield icon. =)
For the colour theme, light pastel tones paired up with glossy effects and a dark theme background. I don’t know for sure which colors work best (I’m not too much into artist things and art theories, but I’ve seen many people use those themes).
I completely agree with the shield being too wide - it feels a little too imposing, whereas smaller seems more inviting. Gloss idea is brilliant
Do you think this looks better?
One idea I have is that the colors that you choose for the badges should be reminiscent of different metals/materials. For example, the Level 1 badge should be colored brown (represents bronze), Level #2 should be colored gray (represents silver), and Level #3 should be colored yellow (represents gold).
If you want to keep the blue and gray color scheme for the Level #1 badge, you could make the Level #2 badge yellow, and the Level #3 badge a light smoky blue (represents diamond or platinum). Don’t quite know what secondary colors should be chosen…
I’m unsure if you’re planning on adding more levels in the future, so this idea could become outdated and may not suit other badges 🫤
Great! To preserve text readability, I’d make the gloss effect less on the “Member” ribbon.
The gloss on the shield it awesome! A good shiny shield! But for the ribbon, I’d say reduce its current gloss by about 80%.
You only need a little bit gloss on the ribbon to make the ribbon blend better with the theme/shield. (Imagine a solid color ribbon with a mirror. That’d look weird! So that’s why we take out most of the gloss, but not all of it for the ribbon.)
The image you posted look way way better than the original! Great work! I’d say it’s 75% better than original images.
Btw, make sure when you upload to the game, you add more of that black background to make the total image a square. The shield can stay the same size, but add more background “buffer” to make to total image resolution a square. So, the result wouldn’t be stretched.
