Hi all
We’d like some advice as to why our game has a low session time (1-2 minutes).
In this game, you escape randomly-generated mazes while battling against other players.
Thank you in advance!

If I had to guess it’d be that there’s no clear progression.
If you don’t mind, could you be more specific?
Whats the point of leveling up and making money?
Money → Better items
Level → More money + “proof of skill”
We’ve also added an arrow pointing to the shop to make the usage of money more clear
Is this what you were talking about, or did I misunderstand what you meant?
Great i see it! I thought the shopping cart was the robux shop so i never clicked it
But beyond that, i think gameplay changes will need to be made. I feel like there’s no urgency / motivation pushing me to play. The maze is just a maze, the only objective is to find the exit. Experiment with traps so you aren’t just running around
Could you expand on what you mean by the urgency aspect?
Apart from traps, what else could make the gameplay more interesting without sacrificing intuitivity, simplicity, etc.?
For example, what other objectives should there be apart from finding the exit, if the combat system doesn’t suffice?
I don’t know if this would be “simple” but perhaps if there was some sort of map wide obstacle that got more difficult to avoid as the timer goes on, such as maybe enemy spiders spawning, fire spreading, meteors falling, or having some sort of fog start to fill the maze making it harder to see (and thus get out). Could also be a good idea to shelve the combat feature until you get a player base up and running, then re-introduce it as a game mode in the future, as all it really does at the moment is point to the fact the game is dead. People wouldn’t play Call of duty online if they couldn’t find players, even if it was possible to win alone.
All said and done, its personally not my cup of tea, but you got a good start here, and it’s definitely worth being proud of.
Combat system isn’t in play right now because there aren’t enough players. Features that support solo play will need to carry until players come in
The animations could use some work, if Speedrun 4 didn’t have animations and simply just the default animation when walking, people wouldn’t play it.
The map could be better, add some marks to make sure you’ve went there before, also maybe portals to teleport to the other side of the map?
I do love the fact you can keep bothering the Abilities Dealer
Would you mind expanding on these ideas? Thank you!
Absolutely! Players wouldn’t like to turn the same corner so many times, you’d need something for the players to know “I’ve went that way before…” and give them signs that they’re closer to the end. (I apologize if I’m too vague/don’t make sense)
Do you mean like a faint trail as to show the player that they’ve been there? Or just some sort of indicator of when they are close to the end?
Sorry if I’m not understanding!
I believe they meant landmarks so that different parts of the map looked different
anyways some tips of my own:
the UI is a bit bland, it looks way too simple
You spawn at the bottom of the valley, while the shop buildings are on the second level. Alot of people likely won’t even notice there are shops
the shop buildings dont exactly work
the actual shop button looks like its for gamepasses, and talking about gamepasses, you dont really have gamepasses
heading into the game, the tips on the loading screen disappear way too fast and then I just see myself running with a funny animation
the game itself is a bit confusing, the maze didn’t really feel mazy and it took me a bit of time to realize what I was supposed to do (it says to get to the “end”, but its neither a maze-ish map nor a linear one, so the concept of an end felt strange)
the in game map and models didn’t feel as polished as the lobby (especially the energy thing)
the combat is really wacky as it gives no feedback to the player at all, I can hit the enemy and they dont seem to be knocked back or affected except in health, and I can run around just fine when attacking
also some of the spikes were highlighted while some where, if you didn’t know, theres a highlight limit
