I can’t play the game right now, but give players something to grind for (at least something that’s easy to get within 10 minutes so they’ll try to get the easy rewards).
Maybe some stuff like coins in the maze to collect or time spent playing?
I just tested and beat an easy maze. The gameplay is good, but the animations and some UI need polishing (improvement).
The game has a really cool concept imo; kind of like Dungeon Quest.
I’d say one thing that stopped me from trying again was that I felt like that was everything once I touched the exit, even though I know it wasn’t.
Adding some sort of boss with randomized loot would be really neat. Some chests with a similar mechanic would improve retries too.
Thank you so much for the feedback! If you don’t mind, could you expand on these things? For example, what would animation/UI polishing look like in your opinion? And what could be stopping players from learnng of other features in the game (eg. more abilities)?
I personally don’t do this since I have limited time per update as a solo developer, but use moon animator or blender for your animations. Most notably, the running animation looks a bit weird.
As for the UI, the style is all over the place sometimes. There are some areas where it’s good, and other areas with a ton of colors, and areas with only 2 colors (looks bland).
I would also add some sort of System chat bot that gives out tips periodically or add a tutorial.
