Help on creating images and deleting backgrounds

I want to create some images to create an intro for my games, the problem is that i don’t know perfectly how do i create images/draws:

-What app i should use? Paint or anything else?
-How do i delete backgrounds? (Transparent Background)
-How do i make a “Good” draw or image?

I want to keep this thread basic and short. I hope you respond me :+1:

If you want to make images with a transparent background, Paint is a big no because it cannot make PNGs. PNG is an image format that can have a transparent background which can be uploaded to Roblox. If you want to make images with a transparent background, you should use either of these:

  • paint .net (which i use)
  • Adobe Photoshop

Once you upload the image to Roblox and put them in an ImageLabel, set the BackgroundTransparency to 1 to get your Image. Hope this helped.

I searched paint.net and this site appeared:

Where i should go?

The official website is getpaint.net.

getpaint.net is a good tool to install the Paint.NET application. It’s similar to GIMP but more user friendly, I have created many assets for games with Paint.NET and it has proved successful to many; even ROBLOX staff use it!

Photoshop, Illustrator

If you don’t want to pirate or buy those, there are plenty of free alternatives.
GIMP and Inkscape would be the best, respectively.

I dont reccomend learning paint.net because you’ll have to learn another program whenever you decide you need features which paint.net just doesn’t have (there’s a lot of example of this)
youd be better off learning a good program, even if it takes longer.
Paint.net, on it’s own website says (not verbatim) “wow look guys we were compared to gimp we are a somewhat decent program”

GIMP and inkscape are both open source, and paint.net is not, which make them boatloads better

I suggest Autodesk Sketchbook or GIMP.

They’re both free and very useful, especially when they’re used together.

GIMP supports transparent background making so you could go with that, just make whatever image you want on the transparent background it has and select “Export As” to finish it.
