Hi!
This is the first time I’m ever building an obby on ROBLOX Studio, on my game I’ve already did the most of the scripting but I’m stuck on the building…
I seem to can’t get over and build stages and tracks, I don’t know if it’s whether that I may be burnt out and it’s 11 PM.
Does anyone has tips 'n tricks for obbies? What’s a good workflow? And maybe, I may need some motivation too because I can’t give up on this game, as it’s almost finished.
Thank you in advance!
Can’t wait to release the towers so they can get tested someday!
Environment and theme play a key role in making a Tower Obby feel immersive. The theme should match the core challenge of your game—whether it’s focused on difficulty, a unique concept, or a specific parkour style. If your obby is designed to be extremely hard, players should feel that from the visuals, level design, and mechanics.
To reinforce the tower setting, you can add color variations to your parkour, as shown in the image I provided.
One defining feature of Tower-style parkours is that they are challenging and often lack checkpoints. To make your obby more engaging, consider the following:
Rotating platforms to challenge players’ timing and movement skills. High-stud jumps (there are specific techniques for these). Sections designed around Roblox’s unique jump mechanics and movement techniques.
Additional examples you can try:
Disappearing platforms that vanish after a short delay.
Slippery surfaces that make precise movement harder.
Moving conveyors that push players in different directions.
Lastly, ensure your parkour is challenging but not impossible—players should feel motivated to improve rather than frustrated!
You’re definitely a lifesaver. Thanks for the clear response! In the end I worked on three different towers. They did not come out perfect, but I’ll show a photo.
I hope this helps other people.
