Isn’t Casions violate ToS? I Wouldnt risk it

Gambling is permitted under the condition that it is impossible to purchase the currency used for it. The currency must be purely earnable by playing the game and completing tasks. All such games must also have an equal chance and a fair algorithm implemented so that the player is not rigged up to lose.

If Robux is involved in any step of the process, it is a violation of the rules and can result in punishment up to the loss of your account. Therefore, you should keep any gambling item separate from Robux-involved items.

If you want to play it very safe, use gambling tokens (a separate currency explicitly for gambling). These tokens can be earned by playing the game and only by playing the game. Such tokens can be one-way exchanged for game currency to buy other things but game currency cannot be used to purchase such tokens.

Indeed, if you can buy tokens with robux its violate too. I never thought bout it

this may not exactly be an idea, but whatever you do DO NOT make it P2W and if it is, make it very minor

and if u can, just dont Id also advice to put some sort of cooldown that cant be skipped

This game would be good for the ToS… unless there is this:

You are NOT able to make your currency able to be bought with Robux. The currency HAS to be completely earned.

Hey, thanks for all the replies. Let me explain this a bit more thoroughly. I’m making some minigames on the side of the main objective of the game (that you can play while in the lobby) as a more fun way than just buying the coins (which you also could). You can also earn the coins by playing. With these minigames there are no way to lose coins however you can get a smaller amount of coins if you’re not as good/lucky. And I don’t see how this can be against ToS considering the biggest games out there uses these strategies. For example Case Clicker has cases that you can buy with money earned OR bought with robux. You can then get lucky and sell the stuff for more coins or get really unlucky and lose the coins. I see that as gambling. There are also other examples of this where you can buy coins or earn coins to buy cases and either get lucky or unlucky and lose the stuff. I’d love to hear what you guys think about this and if you still are sure that it violates the rules. Thanks!

Pets system which makes you buy eggs to get a random pet is also considered gambling

I Dont think so. So you mean the egg system in Adopt Me?

Yes, it is. But you do not violate the rule if you list the chances of getting the specific rarity or item

Then how Adopt Me still available? Are you sure it says like that in ToS

They listed down the chances of getting the specific rarity which would allow the game to be up

Oh ok? But still I do not think Egg System could violate ToS

As long as they list down the chances of getting which prize like
Common 80%
Rare 18%
Epic 1.6%
Legendary 0.4%

EDIT 06/20/2023

As of the same date of this edit, Roblox has officially moved to ban simulated gambling by September 18th, 2023 (in 3 months), which means that all forms of gambling are no longer allowed on the platform. This contrasts the prior stance to which, as long as there was no Robux involved, it could be passable.

The advice in this post is no longer accurate. Please avoid sharing this as an answer. For more information, please see Updating our policy on simulated gambling in the thread Create Experiences for People 17 and Older on Roblox.

I feel this would do justice as a separate post rather than in my feedback post, so here’s another post that’s more directed at this topic. Hopefully I can clear some things up here.

This isn’t completely on topic, just a note, but I want to clear some misconceptions about casinos and gambling before any more speculative posts are brought up that further derail the thread. Hopefully we can get back on track after this.

First off: casinos. If you want these in your game, then Robux cannot be involved at any point. Gambling is permitted only under the condition that Robux is not tied to your machines in any way and there are no exceptions to this. I’ve previously responded to a topic regarding gambling, you can find some discussion as well as the circumstances around gambling here:

(I see someone has already quoted this post above.)

On the topic of chance: you are only required to provide disclosure about the chances of items if you are doing a loot box/gacha/random draw/whatever system and it’s possible to use Robux to pay for them. The difference here is that you’re guaranteed an item, so knowing what the chances are for winning something must be visibly present before the user can buy the item. Another response of mine:

tl;dr

  • Gambling is permitted, but Robux cannot be directly or indirectly involved. You cannot allow Robux purchases for casino machines, nor for game currency to be used on said machines.

  • Loot boxes require full chance disclosure if they can be directly or indirectly bought with Robux. This includes purchasing game currency to be able to buy loot boxes.

  • If the currency you use for either system can only be earned by playing the game and not bought with Robux, you are in the clear to allow gambling or void chance disclosure.

  • Game passes that affect your ability to earn currency by playing the game rather than a direct purchase (eg double coins), to my knowledge, is permitted. At the end of the day, with those, you never purchased currency, only the ability to earn more by completing in game tasks.

With that out of the way, let’s try and discuss less about if this is allowed or not, and more about what the original post is asking for help on.

~I guess the most simple solution is make it so your games are free to play. I.e it costs nothing to spin the reels on a slot machine, it just costs your time. Also saves on coding XD… and if you want some risks involved… do it Like the slot machines in sonic 2’s casino night zone, you either win coins or if you get 3 eggman symbols you get rings stolen and surely this is not gambling under roblox tos as there was no stakes or wager?

Hello again, thanks for all feedback. We’ve decided to make a new currency “tokens” that can ONLY be aquired by winning (playing the game). And those tokens can only be used for all the minigames inside the “casino”. The reward will be the normal currency “coins”. Thanks

I guess if we could go back to the main topic. If you guys have any ideas for casino minigames. Would be appreciated

Here are a few I found online:

  1. Slots(quite common and popular)
  2. Roulette(quite common and popular)
    3.Blackjack(has to be multiplayer)

However, you have to be careful as gambling is against Roblox’s TOS, so make sure to ask someone trusted before releasing the game.
