Help with game ideas that can net quick profits?

I’ve recently been playing one of my favorite games and I have spent quite a bit of Robux in the game recently (about 1k). I really want to get this 2k back or possibly even more so… I need ideas for a Cash Grab game, any idea helps!

Well first, don’t make a game just because you want a fast 2K ROBUX. This isn’t the right attitude to have when game developing. Think of what interests you and what your skill level is. If your a bit of a beginner, try an obby or something easy. If your more intermediate, simulators or other genres will work.

Thanks, I’m more intermediate I think I will try a simulator!

I agree, you should learn real scripting, but if you wan’t a cash grab you should try simulator games, it’s a perfect genre for cash grabbing.

I have learned scripting up to about an intermediate - mid-pro

I recommend not doing a cash grab game. It’ll leave a bad reputation on you. For game ideas, no one can really help you, but try not to copy another game idea (Piggy style, Jailbreak style, Adopt Me style) because they are well cemented as the original and people will label your game as a copycat.

Seeing your latest response, I hope you don’t do a simulator. Simulators are all the same game except with different cosmetics. It’s the same thing: pets, upgrades, places, concept. It’s been overused, and the days of people doing cash grabs for that are over.

What about a simulator that isn’t like “Click to get pets” what about a simulator that is like Microsoft Flight Simulator, a real simulator. (Obviously not a flight game but you get the point)

The store’s game. but it isn’t really a cash grab for store games.

I don’t fully understand what you mean.

For example here, Store Empire [ SPORTS EVENT ] - Roblox, a good simulator.

Oh yes this game. I meant by simulator a game like that!

Yea that kind of games are very rare soo you should make one of these, but it really isn’t a cash grab.

I mean if I were to advertise the game enough I could make more than 2k so it’s still possible.

Yes, but it will probably take months to get 2k, you really need game passes like alot

Oh, I didn’t realize you meant that, since you previously mentioned cash grab and I associate those simulators as a cash grab. If you want to make a real simulator, then I honestly have no idea what you should make. However, I can tell you that you will need to create a roleplaying community for the game to keep an active user base. But if you are looking to create money, then these simulators aren’t the best way.

To earn money without using overused ideas, try to do commissions instead. Find people willing to hire you on a job, or make a portfolio and let people hire you. This way, you will build reputation and money in the developer community, and when you do have enough of both, you should be able to find your dream game (similar to how some people figure out what job they want in college) and go from there.

To earn more money from your dream game, reach out to influencers to play your game via their business email. If you sell your idea to them in an appealing way, they may check it out, and influencers are basically free advertising. Before long, you will hopefully find your game on a section of the Front Page, and from there you should have exponential growth.

Note: This is not easy. I’ve never done this, so I do not know how it is done. Most developers will find themselves stuck on one of these steps, and this is why there are very cool games that never have enough players.

A “cash grab” game (or more appropriately, a shovelware game) is typically intended to build capital in order to fund a bigger and more ambitious project, not to make back disposable cash you happened to spend on a game you really like. You could just take commissions to fill that void.

As for game ideas in this area, well, you know the drill probably. “Story” games, obbies (especially if it’s titled Difficulty Chart Obby), tycoons, simulators/“clickers”, whatever. That or you could find something unique to do based on your interests that can have a simple core gameplay loop that’s fun enough to hold player retention long enough to see some revenue.

These are my thoughts, but…

Making a cash grab is probably one of the biggest mistakes you can do. You won’t look good in the long run, and people will want to pour money into something that they think they will play for awhile. If I were to join a game with a baseplate, and a radio gamepass was included, and others had that radio pass, if I were someone who didn’t care, I would probably buy the pass to be like others, and then just forget about the game later on because of how boring it got. Then if that were to happen, and you made other passes, I would assume the game is still low quality and boring, and not come back.

If you want to earn robux, and probably keep earning, go for quality please.

It’s already bad enough as is seeing low quality games all the time when you could be making something really cool. I understand it’s just for making up a payment, but you’ll earn a lot more by people staying in your high quality game than your low quality game. Remember, premium payouts are a thing, and it’s all time based.

I hope you rethink your decision, but these are my thoughts.

Your post made me rethink my whole decision I’ll go for a quality game, thanks.

Edit: I’ve decided to go for a realistic war “simulator” Almost like a call of duty campaign type of game (Obviously less gory)

You won’t get any profits from that. Do something that appeals to 9 year olds. I would say make an fps game where you shoot all sorts of wacky things from cartoon guns (pizza and stuff like that.)
